Queensland lost 302 lives on the roads in 2024, the worst in 15 years.

Already this year the road toll is at 23 which is 5 more than this time last year.

Acting Chief Superintendent Garrath Channells from the Road Policing and Regional Support Command told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "We're seeing sadly all the same trends that we have for many, many years, still having significant impact on the way that our motorists and our driving community are using the roads."

"We can't do it on our own and we're appealing to the community to do their part," Acting Chief Superintendent Channells said.

Acting Assistant Commissioner Janelle Andrews told Peter Fegan, "My message is simply that the fast, the furious and the frustrated need to park their egos."

"If they can't park their ego and keep it off the road, park your car and catch public transport."
