Queensland’s infrastructure future is uncertain after more than 20 key projects were dropped from the federal funding priority list.
The list was slashed from 29 projects to seven, leaving crucial developments like the Sunshine Coast Direct Rail, upgrades to the Ipswich Motorway, and the Port of Gladstone in limbo.
State Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie has called for the axed projects to be reinstated, adding that Queensland’s fast-growing population and the state’s decentralised nature mean these projects are vital for future development.
