Queer Roots and Black Spirituality

Zy'Aire (they/them) is a film student currently working at JASMYN - a local LGBTQ+ organization. They are a self-proclaimed "free spirit" who is passionate about independently exploring their spirituality.

Graciela (they/them), like all Capricorns, wears a million hats. They are a D.J, singer, rapper, social worker, and community organizer whose heart's goal is to hold and make space for queers of color.

Noella (she/her) is a journalist, vegan dreamer who can roller skate. Currently interning for 5280 Magazine, she hopes to continue making her editorial footprint in the world of journalism.

Devoy (he/him) is a musician undergoing spiritual isolation and an existential crisis. Devoy is our victory story in the making, with big plans for his future creative projects.

True (they/he/she), in natural triple Scorpio fashion, is full of fire. With their recently released book, “give him flowers”, dedicated to fem queer boys - True continues to show their immense love for the marginalized, and misunderstood.

Aziza Wonder (she/they), host of Queer Roots and Black Spirituality and writer/advocate for holistic wellness, is a lover of all things gay, and pretty. They are a self-proclaimed storyteller, with legs for exploring.

Queer Roots and Black Spirituality highlights the stories of Black, queer young adults of faith as they explore all parts of their identity, the ways their identities intersect, and their coming home to self.
