Episode 3 of Season 2 introduces us to Marc, a listener to this podcast from Switzerland who reached out so he could share his life story and the struggles he experienced with coming to terms with who he is and the trials and tribulations he suffered to reach a point in his life where he could love himself and all who he is. Marc's story is layered in many ways, but this makes it a story that everyone will be able to identify with in some way or another. I connected deeply with Marc's story and it made me feel seen and less alone in the thoughts that swim around my head from time to time. I hope you all feel this same connection and know that there is always someone out there who wants to hear your story and wants to help you in any way that they can. Thank you for listening!
For our Swiss listeners, Marc has provided me with the following emergency numbers for those suffering through a mental health crisis:
147: Pro Juventute, https://www.147.ch/fr/
143: Suicide Helpline, https://www143.ch/fr/
144: Ambulance Service
117: Police
112: European Emergency Number
Season 2 Episode 2 has Aaron Cowming and I chatting about his life from coming out to where he is now in his journey to self discovery. This episode is very much a relaxed conversation in which we jump from topic to topic naturally as they pop up and is a nice listen for anyone who wants to feel like they're listening to two friends having a lovely queer chat whilst hitting on some important conversation topics in our community. Please enjoy this episode and like, follow and share so more people can discover this podcast. Thank you all. :)
Season 2 kicks off with my guest Cabhán Ó Duinn detailing his life and how in the past year he has been able to find happiness through being his authentic self.
Cabhán's story is heart breaking at times, but ultimately is a tale of hope and stands as an inspiration to us all as to the joy and happiness to be found when you accept and embrace your authentic self.
Enjoy the episode and welcome to Season 2 of Queer Tales.
*TRIGGER WARNING* Suicide is mentioned in this episode so please skip if this is a trigger for you.
This episode is a continuation of my chat with Kate Murphy, David O'Connor and Ciara O'Hanlon. We jump straight into the topic of sexual performance by discussing my experience with premature ejaculation, the connections between mental health and sexual performance, and overall we just have a good laugh while touching on some very interesting topics. I hope you enjoy the conclusion to our two part conversation and thank you for listening.
This episode is part 1 of my chat with Kate Murphy, David O'Connor and Ciara O'Hanlon. We discuss the results of a quick little research question we threw to the faceless profiles of Grindr to find out their reasoning for not having a public face picture up. The results were quite interesting and the graph of the results can be found on social media (@queertalespod). Part two of my chat with these three guests will be out next week. Thanks for listening.
Hello podcast listeners! In this episode, I'm joined by April Tambling and Jacob Sosinsky, the chair and co-chair of Rainbow Folx. Rainbow Folx is a new Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) for young people (15+) created under Groundfloor, the Cork YMCA youth project and youth space. We discuss the current and future aims and objectives for Rainbow Folx. We then go on to chat about the queer experiences that April and Jacob underwent in their personal and professional lives. I hope you all enjoy hearing from these two wonderful guests and be sure to check out their Instagram to keep up to date on the great work they will be doing for queer youth with their Rainbow Folx project.
In this episode, I am joined by Grace Ní Dhonnchú. Initially, we set out to discuss her podcast Women Vs Everything, and we did quickly talk about the how it started, what it's about and the future goals for the podcast, but we very much went off into a large array of topics. Grace was a wonderfully chatty guest and I thoroughly enjoyed our wandering ponderings in the podcast around shame and unconscious bias within and around the queer community, as well as many more fun queer topics. Please enjoy the episode and check out Grace's podcast Women Vs Everything. Thank you.
