During the dangerous journey Jon and Triena become close and she is devastated when he is captured and tortured by Midean forces. Jon refuses to disclose anything and though he is finally rescued with help from Trienas Gift, he has been hardened by his ordeal.
The Questor eventually arrives at Rhiava having learned the truth about the Mideans. Knowing that if they assist the Rhiava against the Mideans and succeed they will receive all the supplies they need, Captain Sullivan decides to help. Triena reveals some of her peoples secrets to the Questor crew and together they plan an attack on the Midean base.Now only one question remains - who will survive the battle?

Very good read
No alien monsters, no galactic wars, just good people coping with a difficult situation. It was a pleasure to read and I hope you enjoy it too.
Diferent and Original
Questor by LS Gibson is the fascinating story of the spaceship Questor, and the obstacles, friendships, enemies, and loss that the crew goes through after a unknown energy storm sweeps them hundreds of light years away from home. Severely damaged, the only chance the crew has to repair the ship and get desperately needed supplies is to find a planet that has what they need. The basic story is covered by the blurb, but there is so much more to this very solid tale, and I can't add more without spoiling it.
The story is character AND plot drven, with strong characters who are so vivid and solid that they could be someone you run into on the street. The plot moves from beginning to end with a sure, smooth flow and the backstory gives enough details so that you know what's going on without overwhelming you. There is no sex in this story, but with the fascinating characters and the solid, richly detailed world building, there's really no need for it. The author's style of writing is solid, clear, crisp, and renders complex scientific ideas in an easily understood manner. I really like how the author has taken a basic storyline and turned it into something so much more satisfying. You can't help but be drawn into the story and find yourself rooting for the crew to get home. The ending is bittersweet, but has a unique and very original twist that I really enjoyed, and never saw coming.
