Blake kick's off today's show discussing how NFL defenses have adapted to the recent wave of offensive play-calling and how certain teams have already begun to counter. Afterward he breaks down how he deciphers good vs. fake good teams in the NFL and goes division by division tiering each team in the league.
Following the third consecutive lackluster showing from the Pittsburgh offense, Blake dives into their remaining schedule and discusses when this season, if ever, would make sense to bring Kenny Pickett into the fold. Blake then looks ahead to some of his favorite plays for the Week 3 slate, including the Lions and their ability to keep pace with the Viking's offense, Las Vegas's ability to lay a smackdown on Tennessee and the title-contending, Jimmy G-led 49ers taking care of a premature Broncos team.
Following the Bills 41-7 Monday Night victory over the Titans, Blake breaks down their ability to find offensive success at every level of the football field and how they could approach territory of being the most efficient offense in league history. He then floats around the two paths for the 2022 Indianapolis Colts — resurrecting their season as they have the last four years, or deciding to bottom out and begin 2023 with a new head coach and rookie quarterback. Blake wraps things up with a handful of early betting plays for the Week 3 slate.
Recapping his thoughts on Thursday Night Football, Blake stresses the depth and efficiency of this Chiefs offense compared to years past and how, despite not hitting the panic button yet, the Chargers would benefit from an offensive-minded head coach in the long run. Then he dives into his favorite plays for the Week 2 slate: how to trust Brady against the new era in New Orleans, how the Raiders should run over the Cardinals and why the Panthers are being overlooked in New York.
After squeaking out a narrow victory over Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos, Pete Carroll and the Seahawks get some well-deserved credit from Blake as he ties in the Giants and Steelers wins in similar fashion. He then discusses the Dak Prescott injury and how this may have opened an easy roadmap for Jerry Jones as he reconstructs his team, and finishes things off with five early plays he likes for the Week 2 slate.
Fresh off a captivating Week 1 of the NFL regular season, Blake leaves his impressions on the Packers offense without Davante Adams and who's to blame for their offensive personnel, discusses the idea that the NFL has adapted past Bill Belichick and "The Patriot Way," and how most of these storylines won't last another three weeks before previewing Monday Night Football and Russell Wilson's uncomfortable return to Seattle.
Quick Hits is back for the 2022 NFL Season as Blake Pace dives into his takeaways from Buffalo at Los Angeles — including why he's not ready to sell the Rams — his three strongest picks for the Sunday slate and quick thoughts for each game for Week 1 (excluding Monday Night Football).
Blake Pace returns to Quick Hits in what is the first of a four-episode series this week, covering all 32 teams and reacting to their draft classes. First up, Blake takes a look at the AFC & NFC East.
