「イーストロンドン好きやわー」

ロンドンに来て一年で何回もフラットを引っ越したえりさん。

4つ目で落ち着けたのは、ロンドンの中でも特に若者に人気のあるイーストロンドンでした。

気になるカフェや、古着屋の多いイーストロンドンの魅力など。

まぁ、そんなことには関係ない話も多いのですが。

色んなことについてのんびりと話し合った二時間、後編です。

Eri-san has moved 4 times in a year since she came to London and she’s finally settled down in East London where she’d found her favourite coffee shops and vintage clothing stores. In the conversation, she talked about something which attracts her to East London… Well, actually our topics were all over the place, though we had a great conversation anyway.

「一日目は泣きそうなくらい分からなかったのに、二日目にちょっとだけ上達してて」

ブライトンでの語学留学を経て、一年前にロンドンでの生活を始めたえりさん。

留学を始めて、一日一日に英語力の成長を実感できたときの経験や、本が好きなえりさんが、英語の勉強に勧める本についてなど、沢山のことを話してくれました。

“Though I couldn’t understand anything on the first day, I somehow could find a progress on the next day.”

When she came to Brighton to study English, she hardly understood English. It’s been a year since she moved to London after studying English in Brighton for 3 months and she’s now enjoying herself in London. 

In the conversation, we are talking about her favourite books and the way she enjoys reading books in both English and Japanese as a bookish person.

「責任があるから自由があるのは、日本にいても同じなんですよね」

元教員の和田さんは、オーストラリアのワーキングホリデーを利用し、一年という限られた時間の中で多くのことを経験してきました。

語学学校での話やファームの話など、オーストラリアらしい話を沢山してくれています。

Wada-san is a former teacher in Japan but he was always bothered the gap between ideal and reality. He quit his career and decided to live in Australia to experience something new for a year under Working-holiday programme. In the conversation, he talked about his experiences in Australia such as his first local job, which was a dishwasher at a cafe, studying English, room sharing, and so on.
