Stepping into a new arena and taking on bigger responsibilities, can bring on that negative self-talk, particularly if you have been prone to it all your life. If you want to take your leadership career to the next level, managing your mindset is essential and in this episode, I share some suggestions to help you do this.
This is the second in a series of episodes to help you get your next leadership promotion.
I often receive enquiries from women who are leaders who want to get promoted to the next level. If you're wanting to get a promotion, over the next few episodes, I’ll share some of the things that you can do to prepare and position yourself for it. This episode is about being intentional. When you live with intention, you become more mindful of the choices and decisions that you make. Being intentional about what you want to achieve, helps you to define your goals and the steps you need to take to make things happen.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2022 is Break the Bias. It is a call for us individually and collectively to forge a gender equal world.
Listen to what they and some of the audience had to say.
International Women's Day was this week, the theme of which is Break the Bias. In this episode, I take that concept a step further. The corporate environment is very much favoured towards extroversion and it's often the case of she who shouts loudest gets the recognition, gets the reward, and gets ahead. The quieter ones often get overlooked. In this episode I talk about breaking the introvert bias.
For many introverted women leaders, negotiation may not be one of their strongest assets in the corporate environment. Some may believe it involves confrontation.
In this episode, I introduce Mark Herschberg who is the CTO of Averon, a cryptographer, university instructor, and champion ballroom dancer, chairs the IEEE standards committee on HTTPSi and serves on the board of TechieYouth. Mark is also the author of 'The Career Toolkit, Essential Skills for Success No One Taught You' - he reaffirms that negotiation is not confrontation and discusses how you can learn to reframe how you think about negotiation, particularly as you progress in your leadership career.
About Mark A Herschberg
Mark is the author of The Career Toolkit, Essential Skills for Success That No One Taught You. Educated at MIT, Mark has spent his career launching and fixing new ventures at startups, Fortune 500s, and academia.
