In his first season at Johns Hopkins, Milliman guided the Blue Jays to their third consecutive appearance in the Big Ten Championship game, where they narrowly fell, 12-10, to top-ranked and eventual national runner-up Maryland.  Johns Hopkins entered the tournament as the number six seed and upset third-seeded Penn State (15-7) and second-seeded and sixth-ranked Rutgers (12-10) to advance to the title game.
