Kelley Jankowski was born in Omaha, NE and raised in eastern Iowa. Her father was a physician and her mother a homemaker. Her book, An Army in Heaven was based on her work with those patients who were near death and who disclosed what they saw. Starting in 1984 she worked as a cardiac ICU nurse and started hospice work in 2008. In 2010, she realized her calling was in that specialty and became certified in Hospice and Palliative Care nursing, and works full time night shift in an inpatient hospice unit for Carroll Hospice. Kelley is mother of six children and married for 30 years to husband, Ronald Jankowski and lives in Hampstead, Maryland.
