Guest intro: Uwe Boll (born in Wermelskirchen, Germany) is an award winning German film director, producer, and screenwriter and more recently a successful restauranteur. Boll's Vancouver restaurant, Bauhaus, has been chosen as one of the top six to visit in Canada and the mid-USA, according to the World's 50 Best Restaurants list.

Uwe has directed and produced over 30 feature films across his career. His work spans independent projects, political dramas, and video game adaptations. After studying literature and earning a doctorate, he entered filmmaking in the 1990s. Boll gained notoriety in the 2000s with low-budget films such as House of the Dead (2003), Alone in the Dark (2005), and BloodRayne (2005). Many of Uwe Boll's movies were given a thumbs down by the alleged cinema intelligentsia "know it all" class, nevertheless Uwe Boll has also garnered cinema accolades. In September 2010, his film Darfur won the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival prize for the best international film while his 2007 movie SEED was awarded Best Special Effects at the New York City Horror Film Festival in 2007. A veritable PT Barnum at gaining publicity, Uwe Boll is in a class by himself with his sense of humor and has responded to his naysayers by challenging his film reviewers to boxing matches. 

His latest work is Citizen Vigilante.
Although some of his flicks have been panned they are in good company as several movies such as The Boondock Saints (1999); Venom (2018) and Transformers (2007) were also slammed by the professional film critic elites but loved by audiences.
