Big Joe Egan is a seven time Irish National Amateurs Boxing Champion whose amatuer career racked up 80 wins and included boxing Lennox Lewis and coming from behind to win big against the famed boxer, Bruce Seldon, nicknamed "The Atlantic City Express" who would later go on to be the World Boxing Association's Heavyweight Champion. On a trip to the US, Joe met Floyd Patterson who introduced him to Mike Tyson's sparring team working under the tutelage of boxing legend Cus D'Amato based in Catskill, NY. It was there at $75/round that Joe stood tall after three white sparring partners were laid out by Iron Mike. Joe faced Tyson and went the entire round and the Champ quipped "Joe Egan you're the toughest white man on the planet!". Joe was Tyson's sparring partner for approximately two years and thus began a great friendship. Joe turned pro in the ring but had to withdraw after a severe car accident left him badly injured following just a few fights. His book "BIG JOE EGAN: THE TOUGHEST WHITE MAN ON THE PLANET" was launched to much fanfare with Mike Tyson attending the book's debut at Canary Wharf in London. Of late Joe Egan has begun a career in acting and his most recent film is VENGEANCE TWO.
