Prayer for Attaining Love and Forgiveness of God

The Promised Messiah (as) wrote in a letter of condolence to his faithful friend Munshi Rustam ‘Ali Sahib, on the shocking death of his sincere friend, Sunder Das. He advised him to recite this prayer frequently during the day and the night as well as in prostration:

یَّا اَحَبُّ مِنۡ کُلِّ مَحْبُوْبٍ اِغۡفِرۡ لِیۡ ذُنُوۡبِیْ وَ اَدۡخِلۡنِیۡ فِیۡ عِبَادِکَ الۡمُخۡلَصِیۡنَ

اے ہر پیارے سے زیادہ پیاری ہستی مجھے میرے گناہ بخش دے اور مجھے اپنے مخلص بندوں میں داخل کر لے۔

O the Most Beloved of all loved ones, forgive my sins and include me in Your faithful servants.

“O Allah! You are the Great Pardoner, You love to pardon. Hence I seek Your pardon”

(Ibn Maja, Kitabul Duaa)

‘My Lord, I beg Thee to protect me from asking Thee that whereof I have no knowledge. And unless Thou forgive me and have mercy on me, I shall be among the losers.’

The Holy Quran: 11:48

‘Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves; and if Thou forgive us not and have not mercy on us, we shall surely be of the lost.’

The Holy Quran - 7:24

‘Our Lord, forgive us our errors and our excesses in our conduct, and make firm our steps and help us against the disbelieving people.’

The Holy Quran - 3:148

“‘Our Lord, we do believe; forgive us, therefore, our sins and save us from the punishment of the Fire;’”

The Holy Quran - 3:17

“‘And thou dost not wreak vengeance on us but because we have believed in the Signs of our Lord, when they came to us. Our Lord, pour forth upon us steadfastness and cause us to die resigned unto Thee.’”

The Holy Quran - 7:127

“Our Lord, do not punish us, if we forget or fall into error; and our Lord, lay not on us a responsibility as Thou didst lay upon those before us. Our Lord, burden us not with what we have not the strength to bear; and efface our sins, and grant us forgiveness and have mercy on us; Thou art our Master; so help us Thou against the disbelieving people.”

The Holy Quran - 2:287

سَمِعۡنَا وَ اَطَعۡنَا

غُفۡرَانَکَ رَبَّنَا وَ اِلَیۡکَ الۡمَصِیۡرُ

‘We hear, and we obey. We implore Thy forgiveness, O our Lord, and to Thee is the returning.’

The Holy Quran - 2:286

“Our Lord, Thou hast not created this in vain; nay, Holy art Thou; save us, then, from the punishment of the Fire.
