There’s no magic, and the only thing that you can do is to focus on doing your work. The whole game of academia is just a grind and you have to keep reminding yourself that you are doing good and giving yourself encouragement.

I talk about how there will come a day when it will be your last day. You have to reflect on what you’re trying to do in your life, and realize that accumulating things that’s not matter as much as being able to enjoy little moments in your life.

I talk about the challenges of managing multiple identities as an academic and as a parent. I talk about how to manage these multiple identities, but also how to leverage these multiple identities to do better in your life.

I talk about self-promotion, and feeling uncomfortable promoting myself. I talk about how it’s important to promote yourself, but then also find the right amount of uncomfortableness in promoting yourself.

I talk about what value means and how we understand what value is. I talk about how value as social construct it and we don’t have a very good understanding what value is. It is more than just the supply and demand have a good or service.

Talk about how it would be wonderful to see older folks tell their stories online. It’s important to tally stories not for anybody else, except for other people that want to hear the stories that you might now.

I talk about how it’s important to do things that take a lot of time and effort, and get used to having the feelings of not accomplishing as much as you would like to accomplish. Keep applying your time and effort every day.

I talk about how mundane things in life like folding socks are often difficult to automate. There’s a lot of challenges to automating mundane things even though we want to. Also talk about even if we did automate and make our life that much more easier off with a sock folding robot, we probably find ourselves finding other mundane things in our lives to replace that.

The scientific method has made a considerable progress in many aspects of our life. This is primarily a very positive view of the scientific method, and I don’t get into the downfalls and troubles that we’re facing by using this more scientific approach and culture.
