In this episode I talk about the Winkelfechter. This group of fencers practiced and learned outside of the officially approved fencing guilds  during the 16th-19th centuries.  I mainly read from an article I wrote  several years ago which can be found at  Mffgresearch.com.   Thank you all for tuning in and as always, I hope you learn a little something.  

Here I talk about the little known third group of fencers, that never was given royal or Imperial privileges, yet nevertheless existed alongside the two known Fencing guilds during the 15-18th centuries.  I explain some possibilities for the origins of their name, some historical confusion about them.
