These three words are often misinterpreted and defined by a persons upbringing and experiences. With that being known, I find our society dismissive of others because we are not familiar with the depth of their culture.
In the episode, I peel back the curtain a bit and share my experience growing up as a Jamaican child in America. My grandmother's roots in Cuba that brought her to Jamaica did not make the recording as her passing is still a hard truth to accept. In time, I think it will be valuable to interview my family about how we came to live a life filled with diversity because love was the driving force in our family not race.
