David catches up with old friend and coach, David Johnson (DJ). DJ is a former Hampton University Men's Basketball standout, former professional overseas baller, and is currently a coach and professional basketball skills developer residing in Charlotte, N.C. In this conversation, David and DJ touch on the NCAA, HBCUs, women's basketball, and what overall advocacy for racial justice needs to look like for anything to change. DJ also shares some of his raw thoughts on the failures of the church when it comes to advocating for the BIPOC community.

For the tenth episode of the pod, David is joined by wedding photographer, college campus minister, momma of two, and his wife, Kaitlyn Phipps. The two of them have some honest back and forth as they delve into interracial marriage, raising their kids, and what role white people have in conversations about racial justice. Later, they recall a couple of weddings that they've photographed together that had huge impacts on their cultural perspectives, as well as discuss the need for white people to stay engaged and outspoken. James also shares about his journey understanding his identity as a Black male, and how he's grown as he's learned how to use his large platform.

David and Debbie meet up again to further discuss the continual rise in anti-Asian sentiment in the United States. They follow up on many of the conversations they started two episodes ago, and specifically share some vulnerable thoughts on the March 16th massacre in Atlanta, GA, in which eight people, six of whom were Asian women, were shot and killed at three separate Asian-owned businesses. Debbie also shares some of the work she's doing locally, updates us on conversations she's had with her daughters, and gives some raw thoughts on how the church and our white allies can step up.
