As we understand the Promise of Wisdom we also need to understand the Giver of Wisdom. The world will tell you its wisdom in autonomy and individualism and that heir way is freeing you from God. Before you know it you realize you are more ensnared than you ever could have imagined. Anxious, offended, victimized, angry and stuck all of the time they will convince you that it is God who holds you back, when in reality it is God that wants to lift you up.

As we have seen through our time in Proverbs and Psalms, our wisdom informs our worship. We find that wisdom offers us many promises among those are relational edification in the Lord, an abundance of wisdom being available to us, and the reward for choosing wisdom.

As we continue in our journey through Psalms and Proverbs we are encouraged to choose wisdom. Utilizing Proverbs to show us the necessity oh correction and making wise choices and ultimately to heed the warnings of stupidity so that we grow and mature in our relationship to the Lord.

Psalms and Proverbs agree… The wicked will entice and you have a choice to make. Both tells us we must not consent when the wicked entices us. They will entice with promise of gain and never tell you the cost. They will appeal to the desire to belong without change ever taking place. Many will see these enticements and think they are good but by the standards of Scripture they are lies. As we unpack the truths of Palms and Proverbs in hopes that our wisdom will inform our worship.

Opening up the books of Proverbs and Psalms we find out that our wisdom informs our worship. What we are filling our heads and hearts with is what comes out in action in our lives. As we seek to be wise according to The Word we turn to the wisest according to Scripture, Solomon. The wisdom of Solomon meets the worship of his father David to give us the understanding we need to draw closer to the Lord that the Bible reveals.

In the argument to be beneficial we can miss being fruitful. A lot of things can be considered beneficial but in the end the measure of our relationships should be about our fruitfulness. What’s the difference? Being beneficial can be about how you feel. Ever gotten a gift that wasn’t necessary but made the person who got it for you feel good because they got it. That’s the difference. One is fruitful for all it brings joy and usefulness to both parties. The Bible calls believers to be fruitful not just beneficial. In this message we seek to judge our fruitfulness based on the measure of Scripture and not our feelings or the world’s opinion.
