Mark records a story of a wealthy man who is unable to let go of wealth to follow Jesus. We too at times must let go of something we see as good, in order to follow Christ. However, Jesus assures His disciples that whatever is given up for Him and the gospel will ultimately be generously repaid.

We’re all tempted to treat prayer as a last resort instead of a first response. Jesus teaches us the pattern of praying first as He often would retreat to solitary places to be with His Heavenly Father.
