Union Federation COSATU is now facing a new challenge, with seven affiliates suspending their participation in the Federation with immediate effect, yesterday. This, after the Central Executive Committee decided to expel its largest affiliate NUMSA, on Friday last week. The ANC described that expulsion as disappointing and tragic, and a setback for COSATU, the tripartite alliance and other progressive forces in South Africa.
