What's the buzz? Police Minister Bheki Cele says a request to deploy the army to deal with ongoing violence and conflict in villages around KwaMajola, near Port St Johns, in the Eastern Cape has been sent to President Cyril Ramaphosa. Cele visited the area on Monday.

The Department of Correctional Services has terminated it’s contract with security company G4S which manages the Mangaung Correctional Centre. This is the prison from where inmate Thabo Bester escaped last year. We’re joined on the line by Chrispin Phiri, spokesperson for the Justice and Correctional Services Department.

The Bloemfontein Magistrates Court has postponed to May 11 and 12, the bail application of the celebrity doctor, Dr Nandipha Magudumana and 5 others accused of assisting convicted murderer, Thabo Bester when he escaped from prison last May. Earlier, the court adjourned to allow for consultations
