FASHIONABLE FRIDAY [STUDIO]: Free State Fashion Week
is returning for the 2022 edition. The event took a two
year break due to the Covid-19 global pandemic. The
fashion and lifestyle showcase will take place in
Bloemfontein from 28 September to 1 October. We’re
joined in studio by one of the designers who will be
showcasing, Palesa Mokubung who is the founder of the
fashion brand Mantsho and the first African designer to
collaborate with international retailer H&M.

The Gqeberha High Court is expected to make a ruling on the application filed by the Northern Alliance councillors for a review against the IEC to amend the party's PR List. The three councillors names were removed on the list after the City Manager declare a vacancy on their names in council, on the instruction of the party's Secretary. The councillors were granted an interim order to participate in council activities pending the outcome of this review. Yesterday the municipality appealed the interim order against the councillors which led to the adjournment of the council meeting. The meeting was going to debate a motion of no confidence against the Mayor Eugene Johnson. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC reporter Mcebisi Mngqina

The Communication Workers Union has  expressed concern after the South African Post Office stopped paying crucial benefits such as medical aid for over 14-thousand employees. The union alleges that the workers have been left in limbo with some being slapped with medical schemes bills from service providers after the employer failed to settle their bills with medical practitioners. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Communications Workers Union general secretary, Aubrey Tshabalala.

Parliament's Section 194 Inquiry looking into the fitness to hold office of the suspended Public Protector, Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane has resumed today. Mkhwebane's legal counsel, Advocate Dali Mpofu has been engaging with the manager of legal services at Mkhwebane's office, Muntu Sithole. Sithole has served the Public Protector's office both under former Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela and Mkhwebane. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC reporter,Joseph Mossia

A Grade 10 pupil at a Pietermaritzburg school
has allegedly set alight an Acting Principal’s car after his
phone was confiscated. In video clips, a man can be
seen using a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. In a
separate incident, pupils at a high school in Durban
torched their classrooms after their cellphones were
