Brothers who have been crowned champions at the
Word Championships which took place in Los Angeles. 62
other nations took part in the competition and the KZN
based group walked away with 5 overall trophies. We
now speak to the leader of the group, Derrick Mlambo.

Violent clashes have erupted between
protesting Kagiso residents and illegal miners on the
West Rand. This as residents in the community take
matters into their own hands against illegal mining
activities and high crime levels. Illegal mining activities
have once again been brought into the spotlight
following the gang-rape of eight women in a mine dump
in the area last week, allegedly by zama zama’s. We now
speak to David Van Wyk who is a lead researcher at the
Bench Mark Foundation. He’s done research into illegal
mining, otherwise called the Zama-Zama business.

One person has reportedly died in Kagiso as residents are protesting against illegal miners operating in the area. Police are currently in Kagiso firing rubber bullets on the protesting community. The protest comes after eight women were raped in nearby Krugersdorp last week. Since then police have conducted three operations, arresting over 120 men and boys. Udo Carelse spoke to police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza and SABC News reporter, Sashin Naidoo.
