Ekurhuleni Emergency Services staff woke up today to make a gruesome discovery of four bodies including that of an infant when they extinguished a fire at the Marathon Informal Settlement in Germiston, east of Johannesburg. The children - aged nine, seven and two - as well as a forty-three year-old woman, were found burned beyond recognition. Several families have been displaced after their homes were destroyed by the blaze. For more on this we are now joined on the line by Ekurhuleni Emergency Services spokesperson, William Ntladi.

 The long-awaited Africa's Travel Indaba has gotten underway at the Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban. The gathering expects to attract over four-thousand delegates from 35 countries, after taking a 2-year-long break due the Covid-19 pandemic. Being one of the top three global trade shows, Africa's Travel Indaba aims to facilitate and provide access to tourism content and provides an opportunity to interact with key industry stakeholders on various issues related, but not limited to Digital Transformation & Innovation and fast-tracking the capabilities and opportunities around women, youth and SMEs in the sector.
