“I’ve heard both sides and while I detest the ill-treatment of the innocent people I also don’t condone the attitude and  behavior of some fellow Africans who don’t want to follow rules, especially in this time of a pandemic as this causes innocent people harm and also opens up innocent people for ill-treatment. 
I have not experienced any abuse, as a matter of fact I have really experienced the kindness of Chinese people during this time and all my stay in China, and I hope it stays the same even after.”

A new 40km fence that has been partially erected at the Beitbridge border post as one of the emergency measures that the government is implementing to mitigate the spread of corona virus in SA was vandalised over the Easter weekend and metal poles stolen. The 1.8m-high fence which will span 20km on each side of the border post, separating SA from Zimbabwe is said to cost 37.2 million rand. The Democratic Alliance (DA) says if the the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) is unable to cope with processing and paying out a high volume of Covid-19 Ters benefit applications, then this function should be handed over to the South African Revenue Service (SARS). This comes as number of people took to twitter and other platforms to voice their frustrations over the process and red tape involved in claiming from the UIF's Covid-19 Temporary Employer-Employee Scheme (Ters).
