The Basic Education department has dismissed reports that it intends to introduce a new life orientation curriculum that will focus on masturbation, sexual consent, gender nonconformity and single-parent families. The KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Willies Mchunu says the Ethekwini Municipality has confirmed the alleged salary increases for some municipal employees. Striking workers gridlocked the city after demanding salary increases similar to those promised to uMmkhonto weSizwe veterans. The eThekwini Municipality has now decided to halt this process.
