The SRC at DUT is calling on management to attend to students' issues, including financial aid, accommodation and transport. Classes at UKZN, Mangosuthu University of Technology and the University of Zululand were also disrupted. Meanwhile, in Gauteng, the Wits University's students' representative council has condemned management for its use of private security. They say private security officials on campus are victimizing and intimidating students who are protesting over accommodation and registration-related issues.

Structural engineers are expected to brief the Department of Education on their assessment following the collapse of a walkway at Hoërskool Driehoek in Vanderbijlpark. A large cement walkway at the school caved in on Friday, killing three teenagers instantly and leaving more than 20 injured. Another pupil died in hospital on Saturday. The Department's Spokesperson Steve Mabona spoke to Leeanne Mannes on Morning live this morning and said engineers visited the school on Sunday to determine which areas are safe to use in terms of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act.

The 10AM deadline has come and passed for Vodacom to respond to the #PleaseCallMe Movement's demands - for the telecommunications giant to resolve the stalemate with Nkosana Makate. Vodacom has been embroiled in a protracted legal battle with Makate, who was an employee of the firm when he thought of the 'Please call Me' idea. Meanwhile, the South African Police Service has blocked protestors from entering VodaWorld in Midrand, Johannesburg. Vodacom spokesperson, Byron Kennedy, says they have suspended operations for the day amid the protests

Former BOSASA employee, Richard Le Roux continues to spill the beans at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture in Parktown, Johannesburg. ANC Chairperson and Mineral Resources Minister, Gwede Mantashe, has for the first time been implicated in the BOSASA scandal which is unfolding before the commission. He has been named in the 'Special Projects' box - along with ANC MP Vincent Smith and former SAA Chair, Dudu Myeni. Environmental Affairs Minister Nomvula Mokonyane’s name also continues to be mentioned.

Trade union AMCU says its workers remain resolute even though mining company Sibanye Stillwater is refusing to accede to their demand of a wage increase. Workers in the gold sector have been on a two month strike following a deadlock between the parties. Members of AMCU working in the platinum belt have been given the go-ahead to embark on a sympathy strike which starts next week Tuesday. Their number stands at a strong 12 thousand with the union being the majority in the company's platinum sector. We spoke to AMCU president Joseph Mathunjwa and spokesperson of Sibanye Stillwater, James Wellsted.
