British Prime Minister, Theresa May, says Britain supports South Africa's land reform programme, provided it's carried out legally. She was addressing a business meeting in Cape Town earlier today ahead of bilateral discussions with the South Africa government. May arrived in the country this morning. Last week United States President Donald Trump caused a stir when he tweeted that he had called on his Secretary of State to study South African land and farm seizures and the killing of farmers.

The DA says voters will not forget that their wishes for change have been undermined by the new coalition that took over yesterday. Athol Trollip was outsted as the mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro after opposition parties that include the EFF, the UDM and the ANC voted him out. A DA councillor who abstained during the vote has had his membership terminated by the party. The coalition has been shaky since the local government elections in 2016. DA leader Mmusi Maimane says they will be going to court to challenge the process that led to Trollip's removal.

EFF Leader Julius Malema says there is something untoward about the deal between MultiChoice and Newzroom Afrika, which is the winning bidder for the 24-hour news channel to be broadcast on DSTV next year. MultiChoice CEO Calvo Mawela says the company is black-owned and that half of the shareholders are women. He says it met all the criteria, but Malema says he has evidence to prove otherwise. MultiChoice made the announcement at a media briefing this morning and our reporter Amina Accram was there.

Former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor has revealed to the State Capture Commission of Inquiry how she received a call while on a trip in China from one of the Gupta brothers, who told her that former President Jacob Zuma would like to meet her. Mentor began giving testimony at the commission in Johannesburg this morning. She says she was called from reception in her hotel room, by the Guptas who told her that they wanted to drive her to Zuma.

The Pan African Student Movement of Azania (PASMA), has confirmed that the person killed during last night's violence at the Tshwane University of Technology's Soshanguve campus in Pretoria, was its member. The commotion started after allegations emerged that SRC elections at the campus were rigged. Police were called in and it's alleged that the SAPS members are responsible for the death. University spokesperson Willa de Ryter says the Independent Police Investigative Directorate is investigating this matter.

Former chairperson of the ANC in the Northern Cape, John Block, and businessman businessman Christo Scholtz are expected to apply for bail on Monday. It was earlier reported that they have been declared fugitives for failing to hand themselves over to start their 15-year sentences for fraud and corruption relating to lease agreements between 2006 and 2008 with state entities. The pair's appeal case was dismissed by the Supreme Court of Appeals yesterday. There is an indication that they will now approach the Constitutional Court. The Hawks' Hangwani Mulaudzi has clarified the issue when speaking to Sakina Kamwendo.

Former Deputy Finance Minister, Mcebisi Jonas has revealed that Ajay Gupta had allegedly threatened to kill him if he spoke about a meeting where he was offered 600-Million rands and the position of Finance Minister. Jonas has been giving his testimony at the Zondo Commission into State Capture currently underway in Parktown, Johannesburg. Jonas says former president Jacob Zuma' son Duduzani Zuma and businessman, Fana Hlongwana had arranged and were present at this meeting with Ajay Gupta

The Social Justice Coalition has argued that it's unjustifiable that its activists cannot find employment because they have criminal records for engaging in a peaceful demonstraton. The Constitutional Court on Tuesday heard the matter of 10 activists who were convicted for protesting at the Cape Town Civic Centre in 2013, over poor sanitation in Khayelitsha, without giving notice. The Western Cape High Court has since overturned the convictions and declared Section 12(1)(a) of the Regulation of Gatherings Act unconstitutional. Wisani Makhubele reports.

This Women's Month, the taboo subject of women perpetrating violence against each other, came under the spotlight. A young female DJ was allegedly attacked by an older female patron at a restaurant in Umhlanga, north of Durban. Carly Bernadette Oosthuizen, popularly known as DJ Carly O, took to social media after her alleged attack. She says she wanted to speak out against women-on-women violence. In a security video that has since surfaced, the elderly female is seen hurling ice and verbally abusing Oosthuizen. Rachel Vadi reports.

Mineral Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe is considering withdrawing the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA) Amendment Bill. The minister says the current act can govern the mining sector, and the petroleum sector can have its own legislative framework. This follows several delays in Parliament.
