Rooibos Limited, the largest processor of rooibos tea in South Africa, has been brought before the Competition Tribunal for prosecution. The company is facing charges relating to abuse of dominance by inducing rooibos tea farmers not to deal with the tea processors it competes with. This follows an investigation by the Commission, after it received a complaint from a rooibos tea processor in 2015. To discuss this matter, we are now joined on the line by Sipho Ngwema, Head of Communications at the Competition Commission of South Africa.

Violence and persecution globally is causing more people than ever to be forcibly displaced.The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees says 65.6 million people were forcibly displaced worldwide at the end of 2016. President Jacob Zuma has emphasised the importance of education to young people. Addressing a youth celebration at Hammarsdale Township outside Durban, Zuma called on young people not to just pursue any career, but to focus on scarce skills. Zuma also repeated the ANC's call for accelerated radical economic transformation in order to address the country's skewed economy. South Africa has lost more than 120-billion US dollars or R 1,5 trillion in illicit financial flows over a ten year period. This is according to the Chairperson of Parliament's Standing Committee on Finance, Yunus Carrim. He has welcomed the gazetting of the Financial Intelligence Centre Amendment Act, or FICA ACT. The legislation has received a mixed welcome from some opposition parties and the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution, CASAC. ANC Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa says the party has to re-position itself by defeating factionalism and infighting, if it wants to continue leading society. He also called on ANC branches to take the lead in holding its national leaders accountable.
