Guest: Rebecca Leber-Gottberg is either an Events Coordinator/Bookstore Owner who moonlights as a College History Professor or vice versa.  She jumped into the book world with Rediscovered Books in Boise, Idaho nearly 6 years ago and has not looked back.  That wish to have a job where someone would pay her to read books for a living has paid off in a much bigger way than she ever would have expected.  She lives in Boise, Idaho with her spouse and a neurotic pitbull named Pancake.  

Gayle Brandeis is the author, most recently, of Drawing Breath: Essays on Writing, the Body, and Loss (Overcup Press). Earlier books include the memoir The Art of Misdiagnosis (Beacon Press), the novel in poems, Many Restless Concerns (Black Lawrence Press), shortlisted for the Shirley Jackson Award, the poetry collection The Selfless Bliss of the Body (Finishing Line Press), the craft book Fruitflesh: Seeds of Inspiration for Women Who Write (HarperOne) and the novels The Book of Dead Birds (HarperCollins), which won the PEN/Bellwether Prize, Self Storage (Ballantine), Delta Girls (Ballantine), and My Life with the Lincolns (Henry Holt BYR), chosen as a state-wide read in Wisconsin. Gayle teaches in the low residency MFA program at University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe. She currently lives in Highland Park, IL and owns Secret World Books with her husband Michael.

GARRETT HONGO was born in Volcano, Hawaiʻi, and grew up on the North Shore of Oʻahu and in Los Angeles. His most recent books are The Perfect Sound: A Memoir in Stereo, The Mirror Diary: Selected Essays, and Coral Road: Poems. He has been the recipient of several awards, including fellowships from the NEA and the Guggenheim Foundation. Hongo lives in Eugene, Oregon, and teaches at the University of Oregon, where he is Distinguished Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences.
