This episode is presented by Daniel Virassamy, Principal Solution Architect at Mirantis, who describes himself as curious by nature and open source by choice. Daniel will cover, in-depth, the various costs associated with current Public Cloud offerings to debunk many of the myths that Public Cloud is always cheaper, simpler, and the easiest to use in comparison to Private Cloud offerings.
He will also offer recommendations for reducing cloud spend - on any architecture - by leveraging open source technologies wherever possible.

In this episode, Solution Architecture Manager Michael Tillman of Mirantis covers everything you need to know about DISA STIG, FEDRAMP, and the associated security requirements needed to achieve Authorization to Operate (ATO).
ATO is a requirement for applications running in the US Federal and State governments, but the security stipulations required in this industry represent the best security practices for cloud native applications in general. With that being said, regardless of whether you need specific approvals for specific workloads, the security framework and solution architecture of the Mirantis Stack of solutions can help your organization ensure that not only your workloads meet the highest standards of security, but also - if you choose to do so - your organization can get ATO much faster than if you were leveraging other solutions that don't meet the Mirantis security standards.

The teams at Mirantis are excited to announce that Radio Cloud Native is back!
It will be following a slightly different format from before, and although Eric Gregory & John Jainschigg did a fantastic job hosting, we’ve decided to give a voice to more members of the Mirantis family moving forward.
You should still expect to hear a lot of critical information about the cloud native and Kubernetes space, but rather than covering recent developments in the form of a news update, Radio Cloud Native will aim to provide more thought leadership on the most pertinent topics of the day.
This week, Mirantis Sr. Solution Architect Kevin Ng is back with another deep dive comparing previous versions of Docker Engine with the latest versions of Mirantis Container Runtime (MCR) and Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKE). It is worth noting that these Docker Enterprise solutions were acquired by Mirantis some years ago, and MCR and MKE represent the latest Mirantis iterations of these same solutions, enhanced by our development teams to provide robust and complete container and cloud native infrastructure management solutions.

With the recent Broadcom acquisition of VMware, many VMware vSphere users are looking for more cost-effective alternatives for managing their critical VM workloads. If you or your Org are facing this predicament, then you've likely thought about migration. But fear not - Mirantis has you covered.
In this episode, Cloud Solution Architect Daniel Virassamy of Mirantis will explain the most seamless and efficient way to migrate your existing VMware VMs to either an open source, OpenStack Cloud (Recipe 1) OR how to move those same VMs into a containerized environment on top of Kubernetes with Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKE).
