Rock talks with 2 Rays players with interesting backgrounds, relief pitcher Griffin Jax and 1st baseman Bob Seymour.

Jax is the son of former Cowboys and Cardinals linebacker Garth Jax. Griffin was traded this season from the Twins and talks about the transition, his Dad, playing at the Air Force Academy and still being an officer in the Air Force Reserve.

Big Bob Seymour tells Rock how he found out he was being called up from Triple A, why he stayed four years in college and what it’s been like being a big leaguer.

And Rock’s got plenty of football stories, being on the field for the USF upset win over Boise State as well as being a fan with a bunch of buddies at a local sports bar watching college football and more!

What drives us to keep going? To keep putting in the hard time needed to getting better and even master a skill or conquer a goal and objective?

For decades researchers have been working to better understand:

· What motivates people to do what they do?

· How do top performers stay motivated?

· How can you motivate the people around you?

And why is there such a gap between what we know about motivation and how businesses, teams and organizations operate?

This week on the Krush Summer Series we go back to a great conversation with Author and Speaker, Dan Pink as we discuss his bestselling book “Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us”

There are a number of factors that drive motivation.

There is Internal drive that comes from within the individual and then there is External drive which is greatly driven by the people around you and the environment you are in.

Motivation and feeding motivation is a big piece of the performance puzzle when you are Creating Coachable Players.
