On June 30th, Families Belong Together Rallies were held across the county to protest the separation of migrant families at the border. Here is a recap of the Chicago rally, with a sampling of a few of the speeches.

In the first half of this edition of Radio Islam, we talk with Beloit College Anthropology Major Mike Bradley, a recent revert to Islam. Mike grew up, and went to school, in a predominately African American neighborhood on Chicago's west side, and prior to a summer research class dealing with the life of the late Malcolm X (El Hajj Malik Shabazz)--taught by Dr. Debra Majied-- he was unaware that on the south side of Chicago the late Honorable Elijah Muhammad led a movement that would positively impact the lives of millions of African Americans and Muslims. Mike shares some of those observations and what they might mean for others in communities like his.

In the second half RI Asst. Producer Ibrahim Baig aka "The Impressive One" joins Tariq, and shares his recollections of the growth of the well known Islamic Foundation in Villa Park, IL & his home masjid ICN (Islamic Center of Naperville).
