In the first hour of the show, I’ll be discussing some brief weather threats to the region before diving into all things groundhog day, and revealing what our lovely groundhog had to say. A new mini series also comes to life as I debunk some weather myths in a lightning round. In the second hour of the show, I’ll be discussing Storm Chandra in the next installment of this week in weather news - and (if we have time) discuss Hurricane Hazel - the one and only hurricane to hit Ontario . And, as always, I’ll be giving the weekly forecast, Liam's locked in guaranteed weekend forecast, and the laurier exclusive news report.
In the first hour of the show, Ill be riding the godzilla hype train from last week by analyzing the tsunami from Godzilla 2014. I’ll also be doing a little catch up, as we discuss the argentina wildfires - a topic from last week. In the second hour of the show, I’ll be discussing the storm of the century from last weekend as well as a local Kitchener catastrophe before ending the show with your weekly forecast, my trademarked guaranteed weekend forecast, and the Laurier-exclusive news report - all with insights and commentary from a special cohost.
After a restful reading week the small crew has returned to see all but one Laurier team knocked unceremoniously out of the playoffs. Nathan and Frankie return to talk about the disastrous circumstances that befell the Laurier Golden Hawks over the last two weeks, and do a postmortem on the men's teams that have now been booted. Thank god the women's hockey team is still rolling loud and has a chance to actually take it home for the Purple and gold. And then in a WORLD FIRST (probably) F1 COMES TO GOLD AND BOLD and the boys spend a dogs age finally talking racing on Laurier's premier sports show. ...Oh God the olympics.
It's Midterms so sports manager Nathan's flying solo this week on one of the biggest weeks of the year, and boy is it a time to have to fly solo. First of all, it's not over yet, but things have been looking rough over the last little while for both the men's and women's hockey teams at Laurier, who are stumbling even as both look to cruise into playoff slots. Nathan goes on to bemoan the ongoing ball-and-chain that is the Anthony Santander contract, one of the biggest blunders the jays have seen in recent history, before looking around the league at the upcoming MLB season, and closing the shows chatting a bit about the blowout that was the Super Bowl this year, shout out to Tanner's beloved Seahawks for stomping the Patriots this year.
Radio Laurier Sports Director Nathan Pagliaroli sits down with RL callers Tanner Silburn and Frankie Mandarino for yet another Gold and Bold. The gang talks some disappointing ends to Laurier Teams' seasons between the men's and women's basketball teams and the women's hockey team before moving on to the Gavin McKenna Headlines, He broke that dude's jaw in THREE places eh. Either way, the McKenna news is more fun than the Maple Leafs, who are having a horrific season, and the Matthews Nylander era has been solidly destroyed by Brad Treliving. After just marveling at how horrible the leafs are, they talk NBA and MLB before finally setting up for Super Bowl LX.
Nathan sat down with Laurier Basketball colour commentator Tanner Silburn to run down what's happened in sports this year. First the guys discuss the dome being officially up over the football field. The boys mourn the departure of Laurier's football coach a bit before moving on and talking a bit about the precarious place of the Laurier men's basketball situation with the impending departure of many of their top performers and the abysmal place that the women's basketball team is in right now. Then after talking about the NHL as contractually required, they close it out talking a bit about the NFL and their Super Bowl picks.
