Samba’s life has been one of discovery and adventure. The book he has written, The Krishna Carpenter, available on Amazon, is about different ways of seeing the world, education, and what we really need to learn. It’s about Krishna because Samba is a devotee of Krishna. Samba Das, now living in Mayapur, West Bengal, India, has been a carpenter, a traveller, a builder, and an expert in the science of Krishna Consciousness for half a century. Here in the Radio Mayapur studios, we have learned much more about this interesting and inspirational man.

Bhakti Rasayana Sagar Swami was born in Baku. In our family, God was not denied, but they also did not follow religious practice. My grandfather was a wealthy landowner. During the revolution, everything was taken from him, then, it seems, they were shot, therefore, in the family, communism was considered a great evil. Everything that the school gave, I did not accept as the truth, especially since I was familiar with the reverse side of the “coin”. Most surprisingly, it was this that helped me become interested in Krsna consciousness. The first acquaintance took place in 1982 through a communist pamphlet, which described various religious movements. It spoke of Krsna Consciousness. In it, devotees were portrayed as lunatics, dressed in sheets and with shaved heads who repeat the same incoherent words and look terrible. In these descriptions, a part of the Maha Mantra was given. I thought that these must be good people, and the words that they repeat probably make sense. I had a desire to learn more about this. He is currently based in London, UK. He was initiated by Indradyumna Swami and has served in a variety of roles in ISKCON, including temple president in Chelyabinsk, Russia, from 1995 to 2005, regional secretary from 1996 to 2005, and GBC deputy for Russia from 1999 to 2003. Bhakti Rasayana Sagara Swami accepted sannyasa on March 13, 2016 during the Gaura Purnima festival in Mayapur.

Navina Nirada Dasa joined ISKCON in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1984 at the age of 15 and soon became one of the world's top book distributors. He travelled the globe more than a dozen times as Book Distribution Minister. Since 1996, he has been part of a team that successfully taught thousands of devotees through this Graduate Course of Book Distribution. He built and directs the Vaishnava Academy in Mayapur and earned his Bhaktivedanta degree from Mayapur Institute. He delivers seminars on book distribution and leadership and guides individuals through his personal experience from nearly four decades of practice. He still regularly distributes books.

Vackresvari Dasi is an initiated disciple of Jayapataka Swami. She has lived in Mayapur, cultivating and teaching in the Russian community for many years. She is a serious practitioner and student of Vedic sastra knowledge and a strong proponent of the teachings of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. Vackresvari Dasi has written important books in Russian. Her most recent book is Eka Chakra Dham. Umapati Das interviews her in the Radio Mayapur studio.

Umapati Das is an initiated ISKCON disciple of Jayapataka Swami, and H.G. Vrajendra Kumar Prabhu is a senior devotee from Russia. He was born in 1960 in Vladivostok. Since his childhood he has been interested in yoga and Eastern philosophy. He got his master’s degree in philology, translation, Asian studies and the Japanese language from the Far Eastern Federal University. In 1979 he read the ancient scripture Bhagavad Gita for the first time.

After his visit to India in 1984 he began a deep study and translation of the ancient Vedic scriptures. In 1990 he received his first initiation from H.H. Prabhavisnu Maharaja. In 1999 he graduated from the Mayapur Institute for Higher Education with a Bhakti-Sastri degree (Master of Philosophy). In 2014 he established his online astrology school.

Now he teaches the Bhakti-Sastri course in Mayapur, India and preaches Krishna consciousness in many countries, proving its applicability to our lives in the modern scientific language.

VrajaVinod Shyam Das was born in 1979 in South India. He has completed his MBA in Maysour. He moved to Dubai for work and shifted to Mayapur in 2021. He is the CFO (Chief Finance Officer) in Mayapur. He shared his journey with us on Radio Mayapur

Radhika Nagara Das began practicing Krishna consciousness in 1995. From 1996 to 2008, he served full-time with the Scottish Yatra. By the mercy of Srila Prabhupada, the Scottish Yatra was one of the leading yatras in book distribution worldwide. While serving with the Scottish Yatra, he was engaged in book distribution and became one of the managing directors and sankirtana leaders in 2003, and continued serving in that capacity until 2008. He actively preached in universities and facilitated weekly Nama-hattas and festivals in the main cities of the North of England. These included regular Bhagavad-gita classes and discourses on the philosophy of Krishna consciousness.

Since 2008, Radhika Nagar Das has mostly resided in Sridham Mayapur, studying Srila Prabhupada’s books. He coordinates and facilitates the Bhaktivaibhava course for the MI in Mayapur and the Middle East. He also spends some time in Europe, where he continues preaching, distributing Srila Prabhupada’s books, and teaching sastric courses at Instituto de Estudios Bhaktivedanta in Spain.
