अस्पृश्यतेला आळा घालण्यासाठी 'अस्पृश्यता (अपराध) कायदा संमत
भारताच्या संविधानातील कलम १७ नुसार अस्पृश्यता नष्ट करण्यातआल्याचं व त्याचं आचरण निषिद्ध ठरवण्यात आल्याचं जाहीर करण्यात आलं, तरीही प्रत्यक्षात या प्रथेला पूर्ण पायबंद बसलेला नव्हता.. घटनेनुसार अस्पृश्यता पाळणं हा शिक्षापात्र अपराध' ठरवला गेला.असला, तरी परिणामकारक कायदेशीर कारवाईसाठी कायदा करणंआणि या प्रथेला आळा घालणं आवश्यक होतं. त्याच उद्देशाने संसदेने ८ मे १९५५ रोजी 'अस्पृश्यता (अपराध) कायदा संमत केला व हा कायदा १ जून, १९५५ पासून देशभरात लागू झाला.

■ १६ ते २० जानेवारी - स्फोटक वातावरण, हिंसक घटना मुंबईतल्या तप्त वातावरणाची धग दिल्लीपर्यंत पोहोचली होती. नेहरू अस्वस्थ झाले होते. १४ डिसेंबर ते २४ डिसेंबर, १९५५ दरम्यान, लोकसभेत या समस्येवर प्रदीर्घ चर्चा झाल्या. त्यातून मुंबईला केंद्रशासित प्रदेशाचा दर्जा देण्याची कल्पना पुढे आली. १६ जानेवारी, १९५६ च्या पहाटे नेत्यांच्या धरपकडीचं सत्र सुरू होऊन अनेक कम्युनिस्ट नेत्यांना व प्रबोधनकार ठाकरे यांना अटक झाली.
Informative session about the important personality. Vishnu Sakharam Khandekar was a Marathi writer from Maharashtra, India. He was the first Marathi author to win the prestigious Jnanpith Award. In 1941, Khandekar was elected as the president of the annual Marathi Sahitya Sammelan (Marathi Literary Conference) in Solapur. In 1968, the Government of India honoured him with a Padma Bhushan award in recognition of his literary accomplishments. Two years later, he was also honoured with the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship of the Indian Sahitya Akademi. in 1974, he was awarded Jnanpith Award, country's highest literary recognition, for his novel Yayati. Shivaji University at Kolhapur, Maharashtra conferred on him an honorary degree of D.Litt. In 1998, the Government of India issued a commemorative postage stamp in his honour.
Friedrich Wilhelm Ostwald was a Baltic German chemist and philosopher. Ostwald is credited with being one of the founders of the field of physical chemistry, with Jacobus Henricus van 't Hoff, Walther Nernst, and Svante Arrhenius. He received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1909 for his scientific contributions to the fields of catalysis, chemical equilibria and reaction velocities. Following his 1906 retirement from academic life, Ostwald became much involved in philosophy, art, and politics. He made significant contributions to each of these fields. Ostwald has been described as a polymath.

विशाल द्विभाषिक मुंबई राज्याच्या शिफारशीनंतर संयुक्त महाराष्ट्राच्या निर्मितीसाठीचं आंदोलन तीव्र
पुनर्रचना आयोगाने मराठी भाषकांची मुंबईसह संयुक्त महाराष्ट्राची मागणी डावलून मराठी-गुजराती भाषकांकरता एकाच द्विभाषिक राज्य मुंबई राज्याची शिफारस केलेली होती. त्याविरोधात निदर्शने करणाऱ्या आंदोलकांवर मुंबईच्या 'फ्लोरा फाउंटन (आजचा हुतात्मा चौक) जवळच्या भागात २१ नोव्हेंबर १९५५ रोजी पोलिसांनी गोळीबार केला. त्यात १५ कार्यकर्ते मृत्युमुखी पडले आणि ६०च्या वर जखमी झाले. या घटनेमुळे मराठी भाषकांतील असंतोषात भर पडून आंदोलन अधिकच तीव्र झालं.
Informative session about the important personality. Tomáš Jan Baťa, CC, also known as Thomas Bata Jr. and Tomáš Baťa ml., was a Czech-born Canadian businessman and philanthropist. He ran the Bata Shoe Company from the 1940s until the 1980s. Tomáš Baťa was the equivalent of Henry Ford in breakthrough technology for his time. The company's warehouse in the then Czechoslovakia was the first automated installation in Europe (designed by Peter Behrens, architect). In the company headquarters in Zlín, the central shaft of the building was an elevator with a personal office that could move from one floor to another. Like Ford, he established a repetitive mechanical system of production, which he called "work factor". But unlike Ford, Tomáš Baťa had a social concern for his employees, paying fair wages and contributing to their welfare with social programs and sports facilities sponsored and financially supported by the company.

रामनाथन कृष्णन यांचा पहिला विजय१९५४ मध्ये विंबल्डन स्पर्धेच्या ज्युनिअर गटातील टेनिस स्पर्धेत भारताच्या रामनाथन कृष्णन यांनी ऑस्ट्रेलियाच्या अॅश्ले कूपरचा पराभव केला व विंबल्डन स्पर्धेत टेनिसमध्ये असं यश संपादन करणारे ते पहिले भारतीय टेनिसपटू ठरले. त्याचप्रमाणे आशियातलेही ते पहिले खेळाडू ठरले.
