Recently, Singapore's Changi Airport was awarded the title of Best Airport in the world by Skytrax for the 13th time ever. We go around talking about Changi's closest competitors (Doha Hamad and Tokyo Haneda) and what Changi does best. And toilets (that's all we'll say, listen in to find out).During the break, as the semester comes to a close, graduation season is slowly upon us. Joy shares about her student life/journey as she graduates after four years in NUS. After the break, we pivot from discussing current affairs to a rather lighthearted and reflective chat. We delve into the work behind our podcast and why talk about current affairs. Finally, we look back at each of our journeys in this show, Radio Pulze and life in general. Et voila, c'est tout (for this semester)! Thank you for listening; no matter whether you've listened to the current affairs show from last semester or whether you've recently jumped on the series. What a whirlwind week in international relations. On 2 April 2025, US President Donald Trump announced wide-sweeping tariffs.

Join us, Anelka and Nico, as we discuss the impacts and reactions to the tariffs (at home and elsewhere), and what it means for the current multilateral order.

We also delve into the maths behind the tariffs; and some weird observations we picked up from the announcement like the Heard and Macdonald Islands (cue the penguin trade delegation).

Also in the break, with the arrival of summer, it's orientation season again! We share our orientation experiences and things to consider as prospective Year 1s entering the university.

We start with news of London's Heathrow Airport suspending operations to a fire that happened hours before recording. Join us, Anelka, Nico and Viwaswan as we share the possible ripple effects of the disruption at the world's 4th busiest airport. This week saw Singapore's third monsoon surge (and our favourite sweater weather). But why the monsoon surge and is it all good? We discuss the impacts and possible reasons for the surge, including La Nina. Dust off your geography books as we talk about the bigger picture of climate change, with a focus on human (anthropogenic) causes. 2024 also marked a monumental point in the fight against climate change. To end of, we exchange our hopes for future climate action while sharing current adaptation measures we see in daily life. We do so with references to our experiences and lessons from pre-university and at NUS (mainly HSI1000: How Science Works, Why Science Works and CDE2501: Liveable cities). During the break, we delve into more lighthearted news on Singapore being the second happiest country (#34 globally) in Asia. We share what makes us happy living here. We're back with just the two of us Anelka and Nico at the outset of the NUS Open House. A few days back, the Quacquarelli Symond (QS) World University rankings was published, with NUS maintaining or improving its position across many disciplines.

In this episode, we talk about student life in general, as students from the College of Humanities and Sciences (CHS). We bring up other considerations beyond grade profiles and QS rankings; from CCAs to the numerous sports and library facilities around campus.
