In The Now is back for another semester! :)

What better way to start our first episode from winter with a revisit of a topic we did last semester -- canteen food!

Join us, Anelka and Nico, as check in on the Central Kitchen Canteen Model which debuted in a handful of primary and secondary schools in January this year. The matter was also the anchor for multiple parliamentary questions in the recent sitting of Parliament in early February. Is the model living up to its aim of providing accessible, nutritious and affordable meals to students?

During the short break, listen in to Lucas (Year 1 Business student) from Nussync as he talks about his club and his favourite experiences during his time there.

After the break, we turn to the event that made rounds in the news and social media with regard to canteens. Finally, we circle back on what we think of Singapore's school canteen culture, its status nationally and its influence in the national identity. Happy listening!

This segment examines both the common ground and differences in our professor’s interests in the philosophy of art, spanning comic books, conceptual art, and music.

Happy 2026! Enjoy this impromptu session of In The Between (not In The Now, apparently) as Radio Pulze slowly restarts from our winter hibernation.

Just after New Year's, the Trump Administration launched an operation in Venezuela, capturing its leader Nicolas Maduro. Following the operation, international news attention was focused on the South American country, showing countless of reactions from both sides.

Join Anelka, Nico, JS (Year 2 Chinese Studies student) and Yao Ting (Year 2 Political Science student) as we discuss what happened, the aftermath, reaction, and reasons for the US' strike on Venezuela. Was it political, economical, or a mixture of both?

After the break, we discuss the possible implications of the operation before turning to another development: US President Donald Trump's intention on acquiring Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark 2000km from the US. How do the events in Caracas affect the issue of Greenland?

In the midst of this rather serious discussion, we take a break and hear about Yao Ting's journey to NUS and his reasons for choosing PS. Additionally, hear some tidbits from Anelka and Yao Ting as we talk about the course we met - PS2249 Government and Politics of Singapore - and the prolific teacher for the course.
