Welcome to the Abraham and Sarah House Reception Center for Asylum Seekers
We ask you to listen carefully to this message, which will help you understand the rules of this place.
It is intended to provide temporary accommodation to foreign citizens.
The asylum seeker is hosted at the center for the time necessary to complete the legal requirements for the asylum application.
The service is directed and coordinated by the Prefecture of Foggia and is managed by the Siniscalco Ceci Emmaus Foundation.
Upon arrival at the Reception Center, identification and legal information procedures will be completed.
A medical examination will then be performed and a kit will be assigned
with clothing and hygiene products.
Upon arrival at the Center, all guests are assigned a bed.
The bed assignment includes two sheets, one pillowcase, and two blankets.
It is strictly forbidden to change the assigned room without authorization from the Center Management.
The canteen service is available daily according to the following hours:
Breakfast 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
Lunch 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Dinner 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
To receive meals, you must report in person to the canteen. Only one meal will be provided per person.
Meals will not be served outside of the scheduled hours.
If you cannot eat certain foods for religious, cultural, or health reasons, please notify Management.
Reception Center Services
All guests can use the following services:
Common area cleaning service
- Linguistic and cultural mediation service
- Legal assistance service
- Medical assistance service
- Telephone service at the entrance to the Center
Rules to be respected for peaceful coexistence
Inside the facility:
- Climbing over the fence is prohibited;
- Bringing weapons or instruments that could endanger people's lives is prohibited; in Italy, this is punishable by
arrest).
It is forbidden to bring in flammable materials;
- Gambling is prohibited;
- Moving to a different accommodation than the one assigned without authorization from the Center's Management is prohibited;
- Giving up one's bed, even temporarily, is prohibited;
- Disturbing other guests during nighttime hours is prohibited;
- Smoking is prohibited in rooms and enclosed areas;
- The use of alcohol and drugs is prohibited.
- Making structural modifications to one's room is prohibited;
- Wandering around naked is prohibited;
- Physical and verbal violence is prohibited;
- Failure to comply with the obligation to remain in one's room during medically prescribed quarantine periods is prohibited;
- Hosting strangers within the Center is prohibited;
- Urinating in public is prohibited;
- Using any electrical appliance, particularly stoves and heaters, without authorization from the Management is prohibited;
- Cooking and reheating meals is prohibited;
- Smoking is prohibited in areas where women and children are present;
- Collecting money without Management's permission is prohibited;
It is prohibited to own animals.
Inside the facility
- It is mandatory to respect the Center's entry and exit times and rules, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.;
- It is mandatory to respect the canteen service hours;
- It is mandatory to respect the rules of civil coexistence and cooperate with the Center's staff;
- It is mandatory to maintain good personal hygiene;
- It is mandatory to respect the Center's organizational rules;
- It is mandatory not to damage the Center's spaces and objects;
- It is mandatory to compensate for any damage caused.

- It is mandatory to tidy up one's bed;
- It is mandatory to use the drying racks to dry clothes;
- It is mandatory to use the bins for waste collection;
- It is mandatory to follow the treatments recommended by doctors;
- It is mandatory to strictly adhere to the time slots established for using the facility and its services;
- It is necessary to safeguard all items received and return them in the manner and within the agreed timeframe;
- It is necessary to respect the appointments made with social workers, professional educators, doctors, and psychologists.
- During the day, everyone is free to leave the center at the designated times, but it is mandatory to always notify the staff when leaving the facility.
If you wish to stay away for a longer period (up to 72 hours), you must request special permission from the Center Manager.
Permission is granted by the Prefecture only for important reasons.
If you leave without permission or do not return to the center within 72 hours, you will lose your
right to shelter.
