Finally, at long last, I’m proud to announce that the first episode of the Radio’s Best Years podcast is up. I hope you enjoy the shows and please feel free to leave feedback.
First, a slight correction. Sam Edwards was not on A Date With Judy.
In order, the classic shows featured are:
A Brighter World, a locally produced show from WBBM, Chicago. It’s from August 3, 1940 and is called “And Nothing But the Truth.”
Next, we hear A Day in the Life of Dennis Day, originally heard on January 8, 1947 over NBC and was episode #15.
In the second hour, we hear A Life in Your Hands, also on NBC and a WMAQ aircheck. It’s apparently either written by or based on works by Erle Stanley Gardner. I apologize for the poor sound quality. It’s from August 29, 1950.
For the last show, we heard A Date With Judy from May 18, 1948 also on NBC.
I realize that the site needs a lot of work, but I hope you enjoy the shows anyway. I’ll try to release new shows every Tuesday or Wednesday, I’m not decided yet. Remember that all shows heard were from the Old Time Radio Researchers. Visit them on the web at otrr.org.
