This statement shows how Jesus, being fully God, but also fully human, needed help. Being God, we could have taken care of being thirsty all on his own, but as an example of what we all should do while experiencing hard times, he asked for help. The third part of this message is about how when Jesus was going through His worst day (John 19 :25, 26), He made sure to take care of those closes to Him. In the fourth part, Jesus, makes a fourth statement by questioning God, asking "My God, My God, why has thou forsaken me?". This gives us the permission to ask God the tough questions. While we still trust in Him, in His promises, and even though this life is hard it is just momentarily and we will be in heaven soon. So what do we do?
1.) Learn while we asking why. 2.) Love while asking why. 3.) Worship while asking why.

The second message in this series dives into Jesus' second statement that he made on the cross stating, "I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise." This statement is full of promise and hope for the broken. Within this statement, we find Jesus giving us stability (I assure you), support (you will be with me) and hope for the future (paradise).
