Miles Teller, Matthew Goode, Giovanni Ribisi, Colin Hanks, Dan Fogler, Juno Temple, and Burn Gorman all star. It premiered on April 28, 2022, and ran 10 episodes through June 16.

The project was announced in September 2020 to air on Paramount+, and for the story to be described from the perspective of producer Albert S. Ruddy. Armie Hammer was cast to play him in December 2020, but dropped out the following month; he was replaced by Miles Teller in May 2021. In April 2021, Dexter Fletcher was hired to direct several episodes. Matthew Goode, Giovanni Ribisi, Colin Hanks, Dan Fogler and Juno Temple joined the production in June, and in July, Burn Gorman joined as Charles Bludhorn. Justin Chambers has a recurring role as Marlon Brando. In October, Eric Balfour, Michael Gandolfini and Zack Schor joined the cast, with Balfour playing production designer Dean Tavoularis.

On August 23, 2021, it was reported that plans to film at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles between August 25 and 27 were scrapped after learning about a labor dispute there. The miniseries was released on April 28, 2022, with the first three episodes of the ten-episode miniseries available immediately and the rest debuting on a weekly basis on Thursdays.

  • Triple Feature: Clockwork Orange/Lolita/Eyes Wide Shut
Sean Comer, Dorian Price, Mik Wanamaker and Mark Radulich review movies currently on streaming services and in theaters: Clockwork Orange/Lolita/Eyes Wide Shut Movie Review! First up is A Clockwork Orange (1971). Then we move on to Lolita (1962). Finally we review Eyes Wide Shut (1999).

Stanley Kubrick (July 26, 1928 – March 7, 1999) was an American film director, screenwriter, producer, and photographer. Widely considered one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, his films were nearly all adaptations of novels or short stories, spanning a number of genres and gaining recognition for their intense attention to detail, innovative cinematography, extensive set design, and dark humor.

A perfectionist who assumed direct control over most aspects of his filmmaking, Kubrick cultivated an expertise in writing, editing, color grading, promotion, and exhibition. He was famous for the painstaking care taken in researching his films and staging scenes, performed in close coordination with his actors, crew, and other collaborators. He frequently asked for several dozen retakes of the same shot in a movie, often confusing and frustrating his actors. Despite the notoriety this provoked, many of Kubrick's films broke new cinematic ground and are now considered landmarks. The scientific realism and innovative special effects in his science fiction epic 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) was a first in cinema history, and the film earned him his only Academy Award (for Best Visual Effects). Filmmaker Steven Spielberg has referred to 2001 as his generation's "big bang" and it is regarded as one of the greatest films ever made.

While many of Kubrick's films were controversial and initially received mixed reviews upon release—particularly the brutal A Clockwork Orange (1971), which Kubrick pulled from circulation in the UK following a media frenzy—most were nominated for Academy Awards, Golden Globes, or BAFTA Awards, and underwent critical re-evaluations. For the 18th-century period film Barry Lyndon (1975), Kubrick obtained lenses developed by Carl Zeiss for NASA to film scenes by candlelight. With the horror film The Shining (1980), he became one of the first directors to make use of a Steadicam for stabilized and fluid tracking shots, a technology vital to his Vietnam War film Full Metal Jacket (1987). A few days after hosting a screening for his family and the stars of his final film, the erotic drama Eyes Wide Shut (1999), he died from a heart attack at the age of 70.

  • Damn You Hollywood: The Crow (2024)
Robert Winfree, Mark Radulich, Dorian Price and Mac Kettner present their The Crow 2024 Movie Review!

The Crow is a 2024 American gothic superhero film directed by Rupert Sanders from a screenplay by Zach Baylin and William Schneider. A reboot of The Crow film series, it is the fifth film in the franchise, and is the second film, after the 1994 film, to adapt the 1989 comic book series by James O'Barr. The film stars Bill Skarsgård as Eric / The Crow, a man who is resurrected to avenge the deaths of himself and his girlfriend, played by FKA Twigs.

The film entered development in December 2008, with Stephen Norrington stating that he would write and direct a "reinvention" of The Crow. It entered a complicated production process with various directors, screenwriters, and cast members attached at various points. Filmmakers Norrington, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, F. Javier Gutiérrez, and Corin Hardy were initially signed to direct while Bradley Cooper, Luke Evans, Jack Huston, and Jason Momoa were all cast as Eric during various points in development. Skarsgård was announced as Eric in April 2022, along with Sanders as director. Filming began in July, occurring in Prague and Penzing near Munich.

The Crow had its world premiere in New York City on August 20, 2024, and was released in France on August 21, 2024, and in the United States by Lionsgate on August 23, 2024. The film received negative reviews from critics and has grossed $4.6 million worldwide.

  • Metal Hammer of Doom: Okilly Dokilly - Howdilly Doodilly
The Metal Hammer of Doom is back in your life, this time examining the Ned Flanders inspired metal band Okilly Dokilly.  Joining Mark will be Jesse Starcher and Simpsons superfan Robert Winfree

Okilly Dokilly was an American metalcore band from Phoenix, Arizona, that played "Nedal" music; a subgenre of metal music themed around the animated character Ned Flanders from the television series The Simpsons. All band members performed dressed as Flanders, and the majority of the lyrics to their songs are quotes of his.

The band members go by the pseudonyms: Head Ned, Shred Ned, Zed Ned, Dread Ned and Bed Ned. The unusual concept behind the group has resulted in worldwide attention. The lead singer, Head Ned, said that Nedal music is "Not as fast as Bartcore, and a little cleaner than Krusty Punk", references to hardcore punk and crust punk, respectively.

Howdilly Doodilly is the first studio album by Phoenix-based, Ned Flanders-themed metalcore band Okilly Dokilly, released on November 11, 2016. According to the band, the lyrics contain "75% Ned quotes and 25% other characters/original."[4] The album was recorded and mixed by Jalipaz Nelson at Audioconfusion in Mesa, Arizona in early 2016.

The single "White Wine Spritzer" was released prior to the album on October 30, 2016, with a music video on November 6.

  • MHOD Jukebox: Alcest - Les Chants de l Aurore
Jesse Starcher, Robert Cooper and Mark Radulich present their Alcest Les Chants de l Aurore Metal Album Review as part of the MHOD Jukebox!

Les Chants de l'Aurore (transl. The Songs of Dawn) is the seventh studio album by French post-black metal band Alcest, released on 21 June 2024 by Nuclear Blast.

Alcest is a French post-black metal band from Bagnols-sur-Cèze, founded and led by Neige (Stéphane Paut). It began in 2000 as a black metal solo project by Neige, then became a trio, but members Aegnor and Argoth left the band following the 2001 release of their first demo, leaving Neige as the sole member. Neige began incorporating elements of shoegaze and post-metal into the project's sound from 2005 onwards and is largely credited with pioneering the fusion genre known as blackgaze. In 2009, drummer Winterhalter from Les Discrets joined Alcest, after eight years with Neige as its sole full-time member.

Since its creation, Alcest has released seven studio albums and a number of EPs and split releases. Their fourth album, 2014's Shelter, marked a dramatic shift towards a distinctly shoegaze sound, while their subsequent album Kodama (2016) marked a return to their earlier blackgaze sound. The band are widely credited with pioneering the blackgaze/post-black metal genre, particularly with their 2005 EP Le secret.

All of that plus video reviews of ALCEST - Protection, LORDI - Dead Again Jayne, ALCEST - Flamme Jumelle and GWAR cover "I'm Just Ken".

  • Metal Hammer of Doom: Metallica - Hardwired... to Self-Destruct
    Original Airdate 11/23 and 11/30 2016

Mark, Jesse and Robert Cooper present their review of Metallica - Hardwired... to Self-Destruct!

This was originally a 2-part episode that clocked in over 4 hours total. This is the edit featuring both parts and cuts out all the holiday talk, spotify christmas playlists, Jesse's first listen and ranking of slayer tracks and many of Cooper's odd stories. Also, during the live recording of the disc 2 review, Mark's audio completely crapped out (which led to us leaving BTR in the first place) and all of that was edited out. So now the episode is a lean 2 hours - no plugs!

Hardwired... to Self-Destruct is the tenth studio album by American heavy metal band Metallica, released as a double album on November 18, 2016, by the band's record label Blackened Recordings. It was Metallica's first studio album in eight years following Death Magnetic (2008), marking the longest gap between studio albums in the band's career, and its first studio album released through Blackened. The album was produced by Greg Fidelman, who engineered and mixed Death Magnetic.

Hardwired... to Self-Destruct was Metallica's sixth consecutive studio album to debut at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling 291,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, and topping the charts in 57 countries. The number one ranking marked only the second time in the chart's history that any band had six consecutive albums debut at number one, following Dave Matthews Band. Hardwired... to Self-Destruct received generally positive reviews from critics, and in 2020, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich ranked the album as the band's best.
