Our American Correspondent Peter joins us today as he has selected the subject of our Deep Dive episode. John Carpenter has had a huge impact in the film industry especially the horror genre with not only creating the most important and famous slasher horror movie Halloween, but also the creator of the chilling soundtrack. We talk through his personal life, early profession career and a selection of his greatest movies and what he has influenced.

We discuss behind the scenes stories on movie sets and when Kev and Marina briefly worked together on a couple of film projects. Marina talks about her passion for the job, as well as the pressures that also come in this high paced industry, alongside the difficulty faced and overcome of often being the only female in the crew which has changed over the last 10 years. Her main role is the Focus Puller which is a highly skilled and critical job, as errors in focus can be expensive to reshoot. We discuss how to get into the industry and how important this role is for the overall feel and visual language of any movie. We also look into her fun fashion sense and the satisfaction and benefits that working in the movie industry provides.

Today we delve into the life and career of Emma Stone, touching on her struggles in growing up and to why she got into acting. We talk through her movies and roles as they changes from supporting actor to becoming the lead in many huge films as well as the awards she has received. She has been in a variety of genres, from rom-coms, comedy, action, super hero and more recently being the Muse of Yorgos Lanthimos' strange and impressive visual world of cinema. Nicole joins us to discuss her Movie Project. She is a younger generation to us, so it was fascinating and fun to get her thoughts on movies we grew up and love from fresh eyes and modern sensibilities. How much was real and how much was fabricated, some people think there was too many inaccuracies whilst others believe it was part of the story to show the mental state of this infamous killer. We talk about the real person as well as the acting and direction of this impressive and unbelievable story as well as whats next for this popular series.

James is a big fan of this podcast so we invited them on to see who could say the most inappropriate jokes. I think we all lost!
