Sandra Gimpel: Stunt Woman to the Stars
You won't recognize Sandy Gimpel's face from the original "Star Trek" because it was covered by loads of prosthetics! She was The Salt Vampire from the season one episode of TOS "The Man Trap," but she also was a Talosian in the original pilot with Jeffrey Hunter, "The Cage." When Ms. Gimpel started in Hollywood, she had no idea what a "stunt" even was, but she eventually became one of the top stunt performers in the industry and remains active to this day.
Sandra tells us about her origins in Hollywood by becoming one of Elvis Presley's main dancers featured in many of his movies, how she ended up as Bill Mumy's stunt double in "Lost in Space" and how that led to her time on "Star Trek," working with Jeffrey Hunter, William Shatner, and Gene Roddenberry and the secrets to her makeup, and more from her time on Trek.
Plus, stories about doubling Debbie Reynolds from 1961 through the rest of her life, doubling for Betty White and Cloris Leachman, getting tossed off a stage by Sacha Baron Cohen at the BAFTA Awards, tales from "Battlestar Galactica," "Airplane!" and other shows and films from her career, and the scariest stunts gone wrong including an episode of "Bring 'em Back Alive" and a cereal commercial that went from funny to deadly in the blink of an eye.
NOTE: This interview was conducted before the SAG-AFTRA Strike of 2023. No performers were interviewed during the strike unless they were discussing the strike itself.

A New Era for the 'Purple Collar Professional'
In this episode, Adam and Tom explain the term "purple collar" professional, which they use to describe individuals who are skilled in both physical and knowledge-based work and own a business. They highlight how these individuals usually grapple with balancing their varying work responsibilities and often turn to coaching for support.
Tom explains that "blue-collar" involves hands-on labor, while "white-collar" work revolves around back-office operations such as negotiating contracts and reviewing documents. Adam adds that the role of a "purple collar" professional requires more labor, interacting with clients, using tools, and more physical work.
Adam and Tom further clarify that a "purple collar professional" must also balance the analytical aspects, which involve using their business acumen and computer skills to produce reports and perform tasks that don't necessarily involve physical labor.
Adam points out that blue-collar workers who advance to managerial positions often find themselves juggling white-collar responsibilities as well, and the addition of business operations can be overwhelming.
Tom relates that many purple-collar professionals approach them when they realize they need assistance, often feeling physically and mentally exhausted.
Adam emphasizes the importance of recognizing one's strengths and delegating roles accordingly. They shared the example of a restoration company owner who delegated blue-collar tasks to focus on customer interactions and business growth.
Adam and Tom stress the importance of their coaching program, "Find New Direction," in helping purple-collar business owners identify areas they can delegate.

Realigning Your Business Focus to Find New Direction
Join Adam and Tom on a transformative journey as they uncover obstacles hindering their business strategy and refocus on their core mission and clientele.
In this candid conversation, Adam and Tom dive into the highs and lows of their business journey, realizing they've strayed from their original focus. They've unintentionally followed someone else's path instead of blazing their trail.
They reflect on the disruption caused by veering off course and how it conflicts with their ultimate goals. They unveil how their pursuit of better marketing and social media practices has taken them further away from their expertise in shaping minds and empowering decision-makers.
The duo shares a recent revelation - the advice they received, while expert and accurate, didn't align with their way of doing business or advising fellow business owners. They see the need to realign their strategy with their fundamental principles.
Feeling lost, they implement their program, 'Find New Direction,' realizing they overlooked their target market, 'purple collar' workers - professionals who blend hands-on "blue collar" work with administrative "white collar" responsibilities.
Adam and Tom introduce their product, the "90-day Sales Plan," which involves effectively executing sales strategies over 90 days. They emphasize understanding the target market and the purpose behind selling.
They stress the importance of the right mindset and execution strategy, mentioning daily mission reminders, attention management, and a strong commitment to the plan.
Adam and Tom intend to offer the 90-day sales plan to individuals, groups, and through online and in-person workshops in Long Island, New York. They also mention expanding its use beyond personal and occasional use, offering it to the public. They invite interested parties to contact them via their online platforms to learn more about the workshop.
