Rich fires up the mics and shares the latest RAGE Works and Toys & Tech of the Trade updates, including the recent event Rich organized alongside Corey Gumbs from the Black Podcasters Association and Lee Uehara from NYC Podcasters and AAP. How to Love What You Hate to Achieve Success
In this episode, Adam Hurd and Tom Marino dig deep into the topics of discipline, resilience, grit, and consistency. They draw inspiration from a powerful quote by Mike Tyson, emphasizing the importance of approaching tasks we may dislike with the same passion as those we love.
Adam and Tom strongly believe success is not limited to naturally talented individuals. Instead, it is achieved by those who exhibit unwavering perseverance, discipline, and consistency in their personal and professional lives.
To illustrate the impact of these qualities, Adam shares the inspiring journey of his friend, Matt Nartowicz, who went from being a college football player to becoming a chief retail officer. Matt's success can be attributed to his commitment to setting high standards for himself and treating them as non-negotiable.
Tom weighs in with a personal story about his experience running 500 miles for cross-country training. Although he didn't initially enjoy it, Tom made it a non-negotiable commitment and ultimately achieved his goal.
A key takeaway from their discussion is the idea that simplicity breeds success. They emphasize the importance of keeping processes straightforward and consistently applying them.
To put the principles into practice, Adam and Tom suggest an exercise for listeners. Write down a list of tasks, identify the ones you dislike, and work on changing your mindset about one of them. View it as a necessary obligation rather than an option.
Adam and Tom are eager to try this exercise themselves and plan to share their results in future episodes.

Professional Employer Organization (PEO): How to Overcome HR Challenges
On this episode, Adam and Tom sat down with Ryan Devlin from Insperity, one of the industry's leading Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs). Ryan shed light on the invaluable role that PEOs play in providing a comprehensive HR compliance, payroll, and benefits solution for businesses.
According to Ryan, PEOs like Insperity serve as turnkey solutions, easing the burden of time-consuming administrative tasks for business owners. By partnering with a PEO, businesses can focus their efforts on core activities and leave the HR responsibilities to the experts.
However, the conversation went beyond the functional aspects of PEOs. Ryan emphasized the significance of instilling company values and fostering a positive work culture. He stressed that successful businesses prioritize aligning their values with those of their employees, creating an environment where everyone is motivated to perform their best.
Insperity goes beyond just paperwork and regulations – they offer practical assistance to businesses in managing federal I9 verifications, conducting background checks, and handling payroll. Their unique approach includes building lasting client relationships, focusing on longevity rather than quick transactions.
One aspect that stood out was Ryan's description of himself as a quarterback, guiding a specialized team at Insperity to cater to each client's specific needs. Insperity saves businesses from the hassle of dealing with multiple vendors by removing administrative burdens and consolidating multiple services.
The advantages of partnering with a PEO are evident for businesses experiencing rapid growth, managing multi-state workforces, and navigating complex legal compliance. Insperity's training sessions for business owners, employees, and managers add further value, providing guidance in various areas of business operations.
Lastly, Ryan highlighted the importance of Insperity's book, "Take Care of Your People." This guidebook offers nine core strategies to drive business results, with a strong focus on cultivating an exceptional company culture.
Overall, this podcast episode provided crucial insights into the power of PEOs and their pivotal role in supporting business success.
