Today we set up the rest of season 2.
I walk through the symptoms of the world we live in:
1. Verbal extremism regarding Jesus
2. Sound bits that keep us scared or overly hopeful through belonging
3. I know syndrome - keeps us from learning because we already know
4. We all know something is wrong because we were made in the image of God
1-3 is signs of The Great Alienation - listen to learn more.
Solution: own your own story, by reading and understanding God's story.
Next week we will be looking at Mark chapter 1 if you want to read along.
See you next week.

in this episode - we will look at the moment we are in and the events of September 10, 2025.
A supernatural question about chasing ghosts and demons.
and then we look at this scripture and ask this question:
What is in your house? what have you invited in? is there anything that needs to be kicked out?
Scripture:
14 Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed. 15 But some of them said, “By Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons.” 16 Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven.
17 Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall. 18 If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. 19 Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. 20 But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
21 “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. 22 But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder.
23 “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
24 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ 25 When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. 26 Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.”

34 Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 35 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. 36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? 37 Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?

Here is what I read at the beginning of episode that I wrote last fall:
What is it?
For the disassociated, the disaffiliated, the disillusioned, the discouraged, the disconnected, and the deconstructing of the church, God and their faith.
Honest space for you to hear the Word of God with no agenda tied to it, expect that is needs to be heard and wrestled with it.
I am convinced, that our culture and our churches have gotten in the way of simply hearing from the Creator.
My heart has always been for those that do not fit into nice pretty boxes. All my friends are folks that are in the D’s.
Then some reflections on Palm Sunday through the Passover Meal.
Enjoy and examen.

We will dive into Matthew 14:22-33:
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
The New International Version (Mt 14:22–33). (2011). Zondervan.
