Elaina Athans joined ABC11 Eyewitness News in February 2013 as a general assignment reporter and is thrilled to be a part of the most talented news team in the Triangle.
Before coming to ABC 11 Eyewitness News, Elaina was the lead reporter at YNN Hudson Valley. She was a charter member of the startup 24-hour local cable news channel located about an hour north of New York City. She provided extensive coverage of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, Hurricanes Sandy and Irene, and was generously invited to travel with World War II veterans on an Honor Flight to our nation's capital. Elaina was also an anchor and reporter at the ABC affiliate WMDT in Salisbury, Md. She additionally had worked WZBN in Trenton, N.J. and News 12 Long Island.
The Hofstra University graduate is originally from New Jersey. She now resides in Raleigh.

North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall
In 1996, Secretary of State Elaine F. Marshall became the first woman ever elected to a statewide, executive branch office in North Carolina.
Secretary Marshall was a member of the NC State Senate before rising to statewide office. She holds a B.S. in Home Economics from the University of Maryland and a law degree from Campbell University. She has received Honorary Doctorate Degrees from Campbell University, Lees-McRae College, Meredith College and the Republic of Moldova Testemitanu State University of Medicine.
Her work experiences include teaching Home Economics in the public school and community college systems, co-ownership of a book and gift store, establishing an interior decorating business and the private practice of law.
Secretary Marshall has been very active in many civic groups in the areas of child welfare, women's issues, and agriculture and small town economic development.
Since becoming Secretary of State, she has received numerous state and national awards for leadership in technology, government innovation, and women's leadership.

Jonathan Melton received a bachelor's degree from NC State University in 2008 and a Juris Doctor from NC Central University School of Law in 2011. Zalman Raffael (Artistic Director/CEO) Known familiarly as Zali, Zalman was born and raised in New York City. He received his formal dance training at the School of American Ballet, during which he performed in productions with both the New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theater. In 2005, Zalman Raffael joined Carolina Ballet. During his tenure with the company, he performed diverse roles in the repertoire, including works created by Robert Weiss, LynneTaylor-Corbett, George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, Attila Bongar and Christopher Stowell. By the end of his third season as Carolina Ballet’s first Resident Choreographer he will have created 21 pieces for the company. He has taken up residency at East Carolina University (2015), Manhattan Youth Ballet (2015), participated in The Young Choreographers Workshop (2011) and Columbia Ballet Collaborative (2011). In addition to choreographing for Carolina Ballet, Zalman has re staged works choreographed by Robert Weiss and Lynne Taylor-Corbett.
