Peter proclaims before the council of elders and priests, that the healing of the lame man was done in the power and the name of Jesus. Even though Jesus is rejected and scorned by sinful men, he alone is the name by which we can be saved. Would the Lord our God continue to give us boldness to proclaim his death and resurrection to the ends of the world.

In the midst of a tumultuous family situation God is faithful to both Leah & Rachel. He takes away the reproach of the unloved and the childless to display the riches of his mercy and grace to the undeserving.

Peter and John heal a lame man sitting at the gate of the temple. Peter exhorts the amazed crowds that the power of the Risen Lord Jesus has brought about this healing. This miracle should lead them to repentance, so that times of refreshing might come to them.

The risen Jesus sends the long-promised Spirit, and the apostles began to preach in tongues that men from every nation can understand. The gospel begins to go forward in power.

Acts 1 where we see the apostles prepared to bear witness to the risen Jesus to the ends of the earth.

Looking ahead into a new year can be an exciting prospect, but it can also cause us to be fearful of uncertain times ahead. No matter our outlook for 2018 we can be certain: We who dwell in the shelter of the Most High God need not fear the terror of night, for he is our refuge and will deliver us from evil.
