Starting Pitcher for the Chicago Cubs, Trevor Williams.
Today's episode talks into some underdogs in the first weekend to hammer and enjoy the madness that is March. The NFL has been a roller coaster of events lately, being that the Bears will NOT be getting Russell Wilson, Instead, they go with the Red Rifle himself: Andy Dalton. The Patriots will be back this year and looking to get into the playoffs with Cam and the boys, or do they still draft a QB early?! Lebron, also a Yankees fan, is now part-owner of the Boston Red Sox.... interesting. Last but not least Justin Thomas caps off a great weekend of golf as Dechambeau and Westwood completely lose it on the back 9 on Sunday.
Thank you to all who have listened to us, as we are just getting started! Today's episode talks about our favorite commercial characters/actors, Coach K taking L's all year, this might be the end for him... NFL massacre week, over 63 starting linemen are currently on the market... about 25% of the last season's starting linemen are available. MLB rule changes are finally happening! Bigger bases, robot umps, limit on defensive shifts, and no pickoff attempts after 2?!?! Lets dive in.
Well looks like Jerry Jones caved in again and overpaid for what feels like the 4th player in 4 years, but who is counting? Les Miles, please don't send these ladies photos of your junk, TPC Sawgrass has some great bets to get the next week started right, but who do we think wins it this weekend? The Overtime social media page?!?! has created a professional league for high schoolers who can now forgo their college eligibility and start making six figures right away. Genius, The league will be the premier minor leagues for the NBA and will draw some of the top talents to constantly compete against each other and earn themselves marketing deals and building a brand of their own at a young age. We LOVE this idea.
Tiger Woods was in a single-driver car accident, which we do not have very many details of at the moment, but wish him a speedy recovery. We talk about who we see making moves in the second half of the season in the NBA, possible snubs (who arent named Devin Booker). Bullish and bearish featuring NBA Top Shot, Celebrity fighting, Jaime's fantasy basketball team (again), and everyone's least favorite political figure, Dr. Anthony Fauci. We also get into our way too early baseball rankings and our MVP and Cy young picks for each league. Here's a clue: We didn't take Mike Trout, but probably should have.
Carson Wentz get moved to Indy, works out good for both teams, Colts can have their franchise QB if he reverts to how he has played before and becomes a quarterback who can help them get to a championship. JJ Watt Sweepstakes continues, Deshaun Watson going to Carolina?! The writing is on the wall. MLB's boring offseason finally comes to an end with a lot of good players still on the market, and the Dodgers are projected to have 104 wins, astonishing. Trevor Rosenthal is BACK! going to Oakland and you never know about Oakland until the playofs roll around, but can be really good with an elite closer like Rosenthal. NBA games to watch are Warriors vs Hornets, Steph comes home and plays in front of dad, look for him to have a huge game. Heat vs Lakers also on Saturday night on ABC, Spoiler alert: we actually like the Heat in this one! Also on sunday we have Clippers against the Brooklyn Nets, which will be a high scoring game, these guys both dont really play defense, so hammer the over, and have yourself a great weekend!!
This past weekend did not quite feel the same without any football, but we are here for all the other sports out there too. There was a golf tournament, wasn't the greatest without some of the big names headlining, but they are bringing rangefinders to the tour!! Some good NBA games went down, people got canceled, Texas is frozen (T&P's), Draymond didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense with what he was saying, but we break that down more. Also talking about JJ Watt, Russ Wilson, and Carson Wentz destinations.
We didn't feel like a lot happened this week until on Friday morning, JJ Watt announced via his Instagram that he has parted ways with the Texans, we talk about where does he go from here, where does Houston go from here, and will we start seeing this become a trend in the NFL?! We also talk about the roller coaster that is Jordan Speith, and why we don't think he will get it done again on Sunday, (we have been wrong before lol), and the NBA outlook including a live look inside our fantasy basketball league.
Congratulations to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they are your Super Bowl champions for the 2020-2021 Covid NFL season. Kind of a vanilla game but was amazing to watch one man win more than any other franchise has EVER won. Also talking some trade rumors for Deshaun Watson and Carson Wentz. Brooks Koepka literally came out of nowhere this weekend and won the Waste Management Open, (The People's Major), and the Speith roller coaster ride continues. Now we start transitioning into NBA, MLB, and golf talk for the next few months, brace yourselves!!
