Rev. Swami Sukhanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Patna, rendered discourse on Ramcharitmanas in Hindi for three days on 23rd, 24th and 25th September 2019 at the Sarada Auditorium in Ramakrishna Mission New Delhi.

The Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi, organized a Spiritual Retreat (Bhakta Sammelan) in the Mission premises on Sunday, 22nd September, 2019.

For this Bhakta Sammelan, Swami Vimalatmanandaji, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Kankurgachhi, and Swami Sukhanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Patna, were specially invited to speak on the subject, “Spiritual Life” (आध्यात्मिक जीवन ).

The programme began with singing of Bhajans (Bhavasagar o….) led by Swami Dhruvarupanandaji accompanied by Sh. Bishnumurari Chattopadhyay, Br. Ujjwal and Sh. Siddhartha Bhattacharya on tabla. This was followed by a meditation session conducted by Revered Secretary Maharaj Swami Shantatmanandaji, and then Puja conducted by Swami Amritamayanandaji (Pujari Maharaj).

Following this, Sri Ramakrishna Namarchana was performed by Swami Tadbhasanandaji Maharaj with 108 sacred names of Sri Thakur spelt out by him. All this was done in the Vivekananda Hall itself.

After Namarchana was over, Revered Secretary Maharaj-ji welcomed the speakers and all others who had come to participate in the Bhakta Sammelan. At the end of the welcome address, Swami Sukhanandaji Maharaj spoke on the subject.

The Gita chanting led by Swami Dhruvarupanandaji Maharaj. After the Gita chanting, Revered Swami Vimalatmanandaji spoke on the subject. Then there was chanting of “Bhajagovindam” by all led by Swami Dhruvarupanandaji and accompanied by Br. Nirbhay, Br. Baswaraja, Sh. Bishnumurari Chattopadhyay on manjira and Shri Siddhartha Bhattacharya on tabla. Later Revered Swami Shantatmanandaji Maharaj spoke on the subject.

After the speeches were over, the devotees attended Aratrikam in the Vivekananda hall itself led by Swami Amritamayanandaji Maharaj. ”Khandanabhava bandhana…… “ was led by Swami Dhruvarupanandaji accompanied by Br. Nirbhay, Br. Baswaraja, Br. Ujjwal, Sh. Bishnumurari Chattopadhyay, Sh. Madhumurari Chatterjee on sitar, and Sh. Siddhartha Bhattacharya on tabla.

After Aratrikam all the delegates were served lunch, prepared in the Ashram by volunteers and staff.

The afternoon session started with the singing of a few devotional songs by Sh. Chandranath Mukherjee accompanied by Sh. Amar Jyoti (Ashok) Brahmachari on tabla and Sh. Bikas Bose on manjira. This was followed by devotional songs from Sh. Champak Chatterjee, accompanied by Sh. Madhumurari Chatterjee on sitar, Sh. Siddhartha Bhattacharya on tabla, and Sh. Bikas Bose on manjira.

This bhajan programme was followed by an interesting Question-Answer session in which almost all questions given in writing by some delegates were very well answered by Revered Swami Vimalatmanandaji Maharaj, Swami Sukhanandaji Maharaj and Swami Shantatmanandaji Maharaj. After the Question – Answer session was over, Swami Shantatmanandaji Maharaj delivered the concluding remarks. This was followed by singing of “Ramakrishna Sharanam” in chorus by all delegates led by Swami Dhruvarupanandaji and accompanied by Sh. Bishnumurari Chattopadhyay, Br. Nirbhay, Br. Baswaraja, and Sh. Siddhartha Bhattacharya on tabla.

At the end, all the delegates were served with tea and snacks. Thus the Bhakta Sammelan came to a successful conclusion at 4:30 pm.

A Spiritual discourse on the “Vedantic way of life and courage to be” delivered by Revered Swami Veetamohanandaji Maharaj, Head of our Centre in France and followed by a musical presentation i.e. songs in English on Sri Sri Thakur, Ma and Swamiji by Naren and Sarada, two longtime resident devotees of our centre in France, on 8th September, 2019 in the Vivekananda Auditorium, Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi.

Guru Purnima was celebrated at the Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi, on Tuesday, the 16th July 2019, by devotees with great fervour. Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna is regarded as both the Lord and Guru in one, and therefore addressed as ‘Thakur’ and ‘Guru Maharaj’ by all devotees of Ramakrishna Maths and Missions.

The day started with a ‘Sehnai’ recital and main gate of the Temple was opened for devotees from 4.50 a.m. ‘Mangalarati’ started at 5.00 a.m. after the blowing of conch shell (shankh). It is performed with camphor lamp. This was followed by Vedic Chanting by the monastics of the Order.

The Special Puja in the Temple performed by Swami Amritamayananda (Swarupananda Maharaj). Devotional songs were rendered by Revered Secretary Maharaj, Shri Champak Chatterjee and Shri Chandranath Mukherjee accompanied by Shri Siddharth Bhattacharya on tabla.

Homa was also performed by Swami Amritamayananda assisted by Rev. Secretary Maharaj accompanied by Swami Kapilananda and a few volunteers.

Pushpanjali and pranam mantra was also administered by Rev. Secretary Maharaj .

Afterwards, Rev. Secretary Maharaj gave a short discourse highlighting the importance of Guru in one’s life. During that period, the doors of the sanctum sanctorum were closed and Bhoga was offered to Sri Sri Thakur, Ma and Swamiji.

After the bhoga was over , Arati was done by Swami Amritamayananda and aratrikam songs were rendered in chorus by all devotees .

All the devotees offered pranams to Sri Sri Thakur, Ma and Swamiji. When the devotees came out of the temple, they were served charanamrita and havan tilak in the lawns by volunteers.

Many of the devotees who attended the puja also offered pranams to Revered Secretary Maharaj.

After the puja, devotees partook of the cooked Prasad.

The Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi, organized the “Initiated Devotees Meet” on Sunday, the 14th July 2019 in the Vivekananda Auditorium.

For this Initiated Devotees Meet, all the initiated devotees of the Ramakrishna Order were invited to attend the program.

The programme began with devotional songs by Shri Bishnumurari Chattopadhyay (Champak) accompanied by Shri Siddhartha Bhattacharya on tabla. This set the tone for the success of the Meet.

Announcements for the programme were ably made by Shri Bhaskar Roy by quoting some shlokas about Sri Ramakrishna as the Supreme Guru and various connected incidents of His life.

In his opening speech Shri Arun Dey stated that Sri Ramakrishna had come in this age for mukti of all, and to achieve it we devotees need only to remember Him with regular practice of sadhana.

In his address, Shri Kundu said that Sri Ramakrishna taught us devotees how to keep the divine in our mundane daily life.

Smt. Reeta Wadhwa said that whoever with a pure heart thinks good of others is the true beneficiary of spiritual wealth. Swami Vivekananda never thought about himself but to remove the miseries of mankind.

Three devotees read passages from the lives and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda.

Our Revered Swami Shantatmanandaji Maharaj also addressed the gathering which was heard with rapt attention. He described how this Meet of Initiated Devotees held annually brings together devotees who have taken mantra diksha in the Ramakrishna Order and all attending it can discuss with other devotees and take inspiration from them on leading spiritual lives.

All the assembled initiated devotees appreciated and enjoyed the programme very much.

The Meet ended by rendering of “Ramakrishna Sharanam” in chorus by all devotees led by Shri Champak Chatterjee. At the end, Prasad packets were served to all devotees who attended this programme.
