Drawing from my years in both Druid and Norse traditions, I discuss Innangarð and Útangarð, sacred boundaries, guardians like Heimdallr and Móðguðr, and what it truly means to stand at the edge of ritual space on behalf of a community. This is a conversation about thresholds, treaty-making, liminal spaces, and the responsibility of bringing people back from the edge once the work is done.

This longer episode brings us to the closing threads of the Jötnar genealogy, where the structure loosens and the names begin to feel more like touchpoints than a continuous family line. We move quickly through figures who appear briefly, sometimes only once, yet still shape the mythology through impact, challenge, or presence rather than inheritance. Along the way, I try to weave together what survives in the sources with a grounded, lived approach to understanding these patterns, allowing space where the record is thin and acknowledging where interpretation naturally steps in. It’s less about building a perfect lineage and more about recognizing how these beings, whether central or obscure, contribute to the larger rhythm of the mythic world. I may have mispronounced some of the names and for that I apologize, English is barely my first language. If I forgot any of the other Jötnar, and they didn't appear in other episodes, please drop me a comment and I will see where I can squeeze them in later.

Hi there! I apologize for the slightly late posting. Today we are diving into another section of the Jötnar line. Sadly, or not, I didn’t manage to get all the way through it. So many new ideas and connections! We will get there, I promise. In the meantime, it’s a wild ride. I mispronounce things right and left. As I am not a native speaker of any Nordic language past or present - please be gracious. I did my best but some of those names I could barely get my tongue around, let alone past my lips correctly. Sheesh. Despite the stumbles, I hope you enjoy this list of rabbit trails I am hopping down. Perfect for spring, yes? 

There isn't a lot of material available on Spring deities and practices for early Germanic, Anglo-Saxon, and Norse cosmology. But the Spring is still a time of transition that we mark. The Equinox is often referred to as Ostara in many traditions but what exactly do we do? It's still cold, snowy, wet, and freezing temps are definitely a possibility. Why is it "Spring"? Well, let's ramble along and see what we find.

In this episode, we talk about a little known rite called Charming of the Plough. Contrary to popular belief, the name of the rite is a more modern rendition rather than ancient Scandinavian or Anglo-Saxon practice. However, it does have deep roots to that time period. Make yourselves comfortable and enjoy a chat on this season-changing practice.

In this episode we get back into the genealogy of the Norse cosmology. I managed to make it through the Dwarves and a small part of the Jötnar before needing to break. I didn't get nearly as far as I had originally planned, but that's okay. At least it's interesting!

February is here and with it comes Imbolc and Dísablót. For heathenry we celebrate the latter by remembering the women of our lines. This doesn't have to be blood specific either. Join me to walk through a brief examination of the Dísir and what this holy day is for us.
